Modeling topic
Garage layout plan needs a bridge.
I have one side of the garage bench work complete. I need ideas on what to use as a "mainline run" spanning the width of my garage door (11') to the other half of the layout.

DCC install help? MRC 1907 in Atlas S4
I'm having a wee problem with this install and hope somebody can give me some advice.
This decoder is designed as a drop in replacement specifically for this loco - however, it seems that my particular model might be an older version or something as there appears to be one less screw hole than expected by the decoder.
the red arrow shows the screw which is installed, but there's no hole in the chassis to accept a screw at the purple arrow.
Eastern NG mixed with standard
I'm a bit of an anomaly modeling Eastern NG and standard. That said, I understand there are a few others of us here, so I'd like to see some inspirational pics of your layout where the standard meets the narrow. Whether it's dual gauge or not is irrelevant. Coal transfers are especially neat!

Cornhill & Atherton - The Helix Is In
The Helix Is In; which after my induction to the “top down” club at Christmas, was supposed to be the last job!
Following advice from Alan (wizard of LK&O) I had a rethink and redesign of the helix.
Diorama
I wanted to try submitting photos and thought I would share this diorama that is now installed on my layout. I enjoyed building this as a diorama on my workbench as it gave me the opportunity to add a lot of details.

Extreme Diesel Weathering has nothing on THIS
On September 21, 2009, Peachtree Creek decided that it wanted to branch out and see the world. Part of that world was my basement. I did get most of my HO-Scale rolling stock out of harm's way before the waters reached us, but a lot stayed down there.
It took nearly three days to pump out the basement. Here is one G-Guage Bachmann 4-6-0 that got unearthed from the muck once we got in there to clean up. I'd say that she's an example of REAL extreme weathering!

1/2 a peninsula
The photo is 1/2 of the plan for one of my peninsulas. The track on bottom right to the loop is based on the UP St Maries RR interchange at Plummer Jct. in Idaho. The old Milwaukee Road and UP lines both run up a short valley towards the loop and wye interchange at Plummer.
The opposite side will be a passing siding with junction for the branch coming off, and the track at far right continues around the walls to a town. The grey track at left goes to a sawmill on the left 1/2 of the vertical portion of the central peninsula.
