Help: Adding a switch for better business access
I'm attempting to rework a siding to a feed mill. It's based on a real business and the siding is pre-WWII. Everything is now gone. The railroad has fast forwarded to the 1980s on my layout.
At the top of the schematic, the siding eventually rejoins the main.
Flow of cars: A trackmobile pulls cars through the mill heading to the bottom. Then shoves loads towards the top on the load track. This is typically a car at a time.
Coal and steel railroad
My name is Josh .I'm mostly a lone wolf when I operate. My layout models prr and a fictional railroad called coal and steel . It can take 3 operators to run the railroad or 1. It is o gauge 3 rail and block control with remotes that I built. The paperwork is car Card waybill and track warrant. I'm writing a article to submit to the dispatchers office magazines.

Diesel Sound Decoder
Is there a clear winner in the sound decoder world? I am looking to install sound in 2 Proto 2000 (pre walthers) GP30s. I am concerned about the BEST sound rather than price. I know I want 16 bit over 8 bit. I am just wondering what others think or reccomend.
This might be like asking what is the best beer. Everyone has different tastes and everyone has an opinion they are entitled to. It's like asking what is the best DCC system. I worried over that one for years and finally went with NCE. Not even sure why.

Insulated vs non insulated frogs
I have a couple of older but in good shape Peco Code 100 turnouts that I want to use on my Inglenook. How does one tell if they are electro or insulfrog turnouts? I am just getting into DCC and I think I understand that insulfrogs are best for DCC but I am not really understanding what I have to do if I use electrofrog turnouts.

MTH NS/ Heritage EMD SD70ACe
Does anyone have hands-on experience with the MTH NS/NYC Heritage EMD SD70ACe Locomotive w/ DCC & SOUND or any other road name?
I'm finding it hard to locate reviews on these products (Walther's has a sale on the NYC model currently that makes the price attractive).
Thanks

Tsunami decoder question
Hi
Installing Tsunami sound decoder in older Atlas loco. Decoder comes with capacitor attached. Can this be removed and not effect decoder operation. Space is very limited and this would provide extra space for speaker and decoder. Thanks in advance for your input.

3D Printers outside the U.S.
I wanted to ask for some information on 3D printing in countries outside of the U.S. For the membership living outside the U.S., do 3D printers have searchable online catalogs like Shapeways has? http://www.shapeways.com Can you order items from their websites directly?
Is it possible to collect a number of links to these companies that have model railroad items?
Atlas RS-1 body and a RSD-4/5 chasis
Has anyone tried the above combination? I am not even sure this will work. I am working in HO Scale.
I need an RSD-1 and that is the closest I can come up with right now. I know it doesn't get me the correct truck but I think I am willing to live with it for now. Fuel tank and air tanks I can scratch build.
Anyone aware of an RSD-1 available. I have not run across one at all. This why I am trying to play Dr. Frankenstein.

Foamcore Layout Baseboard
I finally found some time to cut and glue some foamcore. Here are a few low resolution pictures of my progress. The result is rigid and light. Now to decide on some track and turnout options.
Here is the frame and top. I doubled the thickness for the sides and ends by laminating with Weldbond glue. Total length is 6' and width is 1'. The frame was assembled with hot glue.
