$6 mini spray booth!
I thought this was neat, and maybe it will work for someone else out there. Today I found a mini spray booth that's the perfect size for painting small parts (even a whole locomotive in N scale, but probably not HO). The best part is, it only cost me $6!
It even comes with a lid so you can keep dust out:
Run aways after about a hour
I have been having an issue with run away locomotives after running about an hour.
Then usually after a few minutes I gain control back.
My layout is basically two return loops with a siding between them. Each return loop has a passing siding in it with auto reversers on each track.

Prototype track plan design.
Just wanting to hear peoples thoughts on this:
When designing a new track plan, based on a prototype subdivision.
Do you compression the railroads track plan, or just design key features of that said subdivision to invoke the flavor, setting your trying to model?

Got lots of work done...
Managed to get all the foam glued down two weeks ago. Beginning of the week managed to get all the elevations cut in and the grade pieces cut out and sanded down. Tried my best to make them as smooth as a change as possible and think I got it pretty good. Had Thursday and Friday off from work managed to get the cork glued down. Did about roughly 3 feet of the layout at a time(was limited to how many tacks I had thought a 100 would be enough was so wrong) and got a few more turnouts built while waiting for the caulk to setup in between.

Building Ward's Salvage
Building Ward’s Salvage
Many years ago I bought a craftsman kit for a junkyard. It was a John Rendall model. The wood was rough but it turned into a decent looking diorama. My late teen’s skills shone through in several areas but I was proud of the scale 2x4 walls that I built. A real box o’ sticks build. I eventually sold the entire diorama on eBay for some unremembered amount.

SMA11 – Build a MicroScene and Extend Your Hobby to Others
I am often asked by family and friends, “What are you working on?” Explaining the joy and intricacies of model railroading and my personal interest in animation sometimes does not quite capture everything I would like to convey. But I happened to come upon a far more effective means of accomplishing this in short order, by building small “MicroScenes” which I use as gifts to introduce people to my work and the model railroading hobby. I cannot begin to tell you the impact this has had! It is simply overwhelming. Read on.
Another New Structure on the New Orleans Great Northern
I just completed construction of a Sierra West Tractor and Logging Repair Shed. The original is set "Out West" in the late 1880 -1890 era. I model the late 1920's in SE Louisiana. The wooden roof of the original would not work in this environment, so I replaced it with a heavily weathered/rusted metal roof. I also added interior lighting. The detailed interior was such that I could not leave it in the dark - and by the 1920's electric lighting was the norm anyway. Thought you might enjoy seeing the pictures.

My Most Recent Structure Project
What happened to my blog post that I made yesterday? It was showing my most recent building project. That post had to do with the building of the Atlas Middlesex Mfg. kit
