What color is the sky in your world?

Hello all! I have never had much luck at consistently mixing paints and matching them later.  So, i am looking for a formula or off the shelf color from one of the big box stores that would make a nice sky color.  Any suggestions or a "recipe" would be great.  Mostly just curious as to what base color folks use for the sky on their model railroads

Thanks in advance.

Trainlife website

Does anyone know if the Trainlife website is still being actively managed?  I tried to sign up some time ago and seem to have got myself stuck between "Account still requires admin approval" and "Account already exists", and there isn't an obvious email address to use.  I note the home page says "copyright 2015", so I suppose there's hope....

[GWMS Model Railroad Club] Help With Yard

Well I am looking for help now with some wiring. I am working on getting a switch module (see image). We will most likely be making a yard module and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for blocks. The yard blocks would be separated by track and run by the sam power pack as their respective tracks. If we were running DCC this wouldn't be a problem but we have DC if anyone could help please do. Thanks in advance, Trainmaster247.

wire connectors

Where is it possible to get replacement wire connectors like the original ones on my Marx controllers and switches.

Switching layout questions (more runaround discussion)

New to the site here, but have been lurking for a while.  I have a track plan for a switching layout I have been kicking around for a while for the office in my home.  My goal is to model what would be a (fictitious) midwest shortline or a Conrail industrial track circa late 90's.  One of my givens was to have an interchange where I could drop cars off on one track and then pick up the days work and pre-block the train before performing switching duties.  After that I would hit the industries and head for the "rest of the line" in staging.

Look Ma, No Wires

As the title says, this is about none or minimal wires.  Some call it Dead Rail.  But as I am going to talk some about charging via the rails, I am not going to use that term here.  I am not posting this to get into DCC vr RC or who likes/dislikes touch pads.  This is to present one way to get rid of those pesky wires and rail cleaning.

First some other discussions must be referenced:

Engine terminal as a theme for a shelf layout – Good or bad idea?

I have an opportunity to build an 18 x 2 shelf layout.  I have a wonderful collection of modern UP power which I would love to use rather than sit in boxes or on a display shelf.

I was considering modeling a locomotive terminal as the primary theme for the layout instead of a switching layout.  I would have a schedule of IB and OB trains, but rather than model the whole train, I would only interact with the locomotives (i.e hostler duties).
