First free-mo module

Hi, folks. This is my first time posting here, though I've been reading MRH on and off for a few years. I have been trying to get back into HO scale model railroading after being in the hobby as a kid and then a few years with a club as an adult. I think trying a Free-mo module makes sense. There are two clubs that are a day trip away. (I live on Long Island, so the NJ group and the Westchester group are not horribly far.) There might even be local interest if someone got something started.

Anyway, I have questions. Lots.

Weekly Photo Fun 12-11 to 12-17

I was talking on the phone and the guy on the other said being today is Friday and all... I say it can't be Friday, I haven't seen a post on MRH starting this weeks photo fun.,...... then I have to explain what it is.

So I guess I'l have to start this weeks.....

Post em if you got em!

Laser question

I know that if I take an image I have scanned in as a .BMP and send it to my laser through a paint program or even imported into my cad program all I can do is raster burn the image. There is no vector data that can be used. Is there a way that vector data can be extracted from or converted from a .BMP type drawing?

say I scanned in a scratch build drawing posted in Model Railroader magazine. How can I get the vector data needed to cut the material to make the structure?

Old Building Restoration?

This is the first building kit I ever assembled. We're going back about 30 Years. I dug..this old stone building out of a box in my parents basement. I can't remember who built the kit, maybe someone can enlighten me. It was available at any hobby shop back in the day. I never thought there was use for it, but maybe there is.

Out With The Old

Deconstruction is underway and the new railroad will hopefully lay track in early January! One tends to forget how many hidden screws were covered up by scenery, buildings, ballast etc. I am saving as much as possible, including the lumber, for re-use on the new layout. Plans are for a cantilevered wall mount with a 30 inch depth and 40 inches height from the floor by 27 feet in length.

ME Code 55 Flex

I was surprised to see ME's latest MR ad had fine print that Code 55 Flex track in HO and various narrow and dual gauges will be available again starting in January.

It also says all new tooling.

Atlas S2 Locsound problem

I was attempting to change the volume of the motor and now the front headlight doesn't work.  First the headlight was flashing then I tried setting the CV259 back to the 128 factory setting and now the light does not come on.

I think I missed some steps, anyone have any suggestions.
