35 second video of the islands at the base of Misti Mountain on my Richlawn RR layout

Another "mini" video using my Cube micro camcorder - this time the subject is the three islands at the base of Misti Mountain.  There will also be a island in the foreground towards the edge of the layout.

Progress on my shelf layout

Making some slow progress on my layout. Since my last post about how I recycled parts of my 20+ year old train table, I have finished the first part of the 8' by 2' benchwork. I added some 1" by 1" wood cleats to the joists so I could screw the plywood from below. I used 2 pieces of 2' by 4' birch plywood for the top.

November update -

November update for bench work in the new section - I am complete with the roughed in part. Wife says no more wood or foam work until after Christmas. We are hosting the family this year and I have to keep it cleaned up for the kids who will want to watch "Uncle Mikes" trains run.

Forgive the video & picture quality just using my phone and not good at it at all.

TT scale switcher

Got a new MTB TT scale loco today. Out of the box runs great, just needs handrails and couplers installed plus a bit of weathering. Great service from Euro Train Hobby of New Jersey. Ordered it on Monday and got it in Cali Wednesday.    Now I have something to pull my newer era TT scale cars....DaveB

Anyone know what is the Mark/Plate appeared in several locomotives?  (check the pictures).

Module / Section Alignemnt with T-nuts

Has anyone tried the method at the link below for aligning modules / sections with T-nuts?

http://railwaybobsmodulebuildingtips.blogspot.ca/2010/01/locating-t-nuts-for-alignment-pinsbolts.html

Seems like a cost effective, ingenuitive way to do it, but I'm not sure how precise the alignment is (tolerance) for HO scale, when I'm drilling out the t-nuts myself.
