Modeling topic

Wiring an Arduino with push button and LED to control turnouts.
As I stated earlier, I received all the components necessary to power my turnouts.
I thought I had everything worked out as per the diagrams below. NOTE: diagrams updated with regard to the feedback I received.
Silver rattle can paint for Amtrak
I'm looking for a rattle can silver paint. I have several F7s and passenger cars from various makes. All seem to use the same or really close shade of silver paint. The automotive paints don't look right because of the metal flakes. Basically looking for a color like Amtrak Platinum Mist to use for Santa Fe,New York Central and Amtrak. I want to paint some F7 unpainted shells and some passenger cars I Removed paint from to reasonably match other cars and locos Have not tried any Testors cans yet.

Paper Mills anyone?
I couldn't find any other topics dedicated to building Paper Mills but feel free to delete this thread and point me in the right direction if one already exists. I'm currently building a switching layout centered around a Paper Mill for which I've posted more details on my blog page.
Before I get into any more specifics however, I wanted to see if there are many others who have modelled or would like to model paper/pulp industry structures. If so I'd live to hear about it!

Battery discharge question with Prodigy Wireless Remote
My Prodigy Wiress Remote has (4) rechargeable AAA batteries (BTY 1000 - HW-IN). I can charge it fully, turn it off, remove the connecting cable and leave it sit unconnected and not used for several days. Over a period of less than a week, the batteries will run down to zero level.
Is that normal for rechargeable batteries, are mine defective, is there something in the Wireless Remote drawing them down even with it turned off, or what? Anyone know what this is telling me?
Thanks for your help.

A Proper Introduction
My apologies for the rather sloppy yet aptly named "First Post". I was simply looking for a way to post a short bio and layout overview before I participated in the forum, but I only had a short few minutes of spare time to use my phone and I never expected people would actually read and make helpful comments already! So thank you!
A request for suggestions
I have an HO GP9 that is UP currently and I want to repaint into the Central Vermont colors. The light prisms at the two ends of the engine are glued in and are not coming out. I need to cover them in some fashion while the paint is being applied. I have considered decals....or acrylic paint....or tape for purposes of covering the light fixtures up.
Any one got any suggestions?
