Coupler "handlebars" ? (discovered they're called "cut levers")

Good evening,

Anybody know who makes these general coupler handlebars on the left (or whatever they're called?)  I can find some with Google but they seem a little more specific and finicky than these.  Thanks!

renumbering and weathering up some slab side hoppers

True Line Trains made the iconic Canadian slabside hoppers in HO Scale in the early to mid 2000's.  They are nice cars that accurately reflect the prototype.  Except for one thing...

Spotted on Thingiverse, a compact 2-axle "drive bogie" you can 3-D print, with a shopping list of parts to power it.

Adjust the axle spacing in your favorite app, away you go.

DCC CV spreadsheet

Double headed locomotives require speed matching to run well together, especially true for switching.  I used page 50 in the NCE PowerCab manual rev.1.65 .   Control Variables ( CV''s ) should be changed in programming mode so that the initial setting of a CV ( Cryptic Vexation?

Athearn Ready to Roll Truck Removal Inquiry

Hi – Wondering if anyone has experience removing a powered truck from an Athearn Ready to Roll SD40-2?  I bought three of these many years ago (brand new) and are finally getting around to working on them.  When I went to remove the side-frames, two locos came off easily while the third unit seemed to have some sort of manufacturing defect.  The tops of the side-frames were sanded down and when I tried to pull them off (gently of course) the mounting pins broke very quickly and easily.  It looks like they glued the side-frames to the truck itself.  I need to d

It seems we've had some extra time to work on and play with trains.  What's running on your railroad?

Here's what ran on mine this weekend, starting with an SD40-2 sandwich on GP39Es.  The GP39Es are GP30s rebuilt by BN in the early 1990s.  The models are Proto.
