Santa Fe Colors
Research tells me that from the 1920s to the 1960s ATSF Depots and some other wooden buildings were painted "Colonial Yellow" for the walls, "Bronze Green" for the trim and red for the roof. Where can I find these colors already mixed or the color mixing guidelines? Also, what was the green for steam locomotive cab interiors?
Wow, I went on vacation for two weeks away from the net.
The second week was spent in Sac at the NMRA Convention. I met Joe, Charlie, and Les there. I just downloaded the latest issue, but haven't had time to look at it yet. I opened "Recent Posts" and had to go back 6 pages to find where I'd left off before I left. I don't think the folks organizing the convention realized the power of MRH! They had clinics scheduled in the larger halls that had 20 to 30 folks in attendance, while they put Joe and Charlie in smaller halls and both of the clinics that I attended were literally standing room o

MMR & 10th Blackbelt
Another thread on this forum is discussing the future of the NMRA MMR program. While reading the most recent entries I was suddenly struck with "solution" for those individuals craving the MMR title but unhappy with the process.
As a martial artist for some 18 years it took me 5 years to get my 1st degree black belt, another 3 years to get my 2nd degree black belt, and another year after that to get my teaching certificate. During that time I saw some students that didn't like the time it took to advance in the ranks, so here's what they did:

Help out MRH a little
Guys, we're about to start the convention season and we're putting together a slide show about MRH.
We could really use some fresh reader comments about MRH and what they think of it.
Here we are in our third year, and 7 months into the move to monthly. What do you think of the magazine? Post some comments, with the idea that we might lift some of them for our slide show.
But please be honest. We want the real deal - what you truly think of how we're doing so far.

The best train shop in the South!
[First & foremost, I am not affiliated with Trainmasters nor did they ask me to do this posting. It's just such a great place I wanted to share my experience.]

Thinning craft paint for airbrush spraying
How thin is thin enough? No, I'm not talking about body weight! I want to thin some cheap hobby paint for my airbrush to spray the backdrop in the alcove area. I've heard thin the paint were it's about like milk, but are they talking skim, 1%, 2%, or whole milk? I use the cheap Apple Barrel paints that are about $1.00 per bottle, and no I don't want to upgrade to the good stuff because I've got a very large area to cover. Do you thin with just water, or add alcohol?
