Your Opinion Please - On camera angle for train videos

I was looking at my recently produced model train video   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2tmmfw4Ue8  and noticed that in all of the run by scenes the camera looks from a very high distance from the ground - about 15 sale (HO) feet!  This is because the lens on my MUVI(tm) micro camcorder is at the very top of the unit.  I wanted to try a lower angle so I turned my camcorder upside down and recorded a run by.  This gave me a viewing distance of about 5 scale (HO) feet from the ground.  Next I used my video editing software to flip the video image horizo

Kato Nscale C58 or C11 steam locomotives.

Hi all

This is my first post after lurking for a number of weeks.

I'm looking for someone who might have one of the Kato models C58 or C11.

I need the physical dimensions of the drive train to use for HOn30 (2 1/2 feet) scale

I'm hoping to use either of these locos to model the Baldwin Prairie Tank locos used on the Puffing Billy Railway in Victoria Australia

Open House at the Richlawn Railroad for the Piedmont Pilgrimage

This past Saturday October 15th was my open house on the Piedmont Pilgrimage model railroad tour.  The tour started on the 15th and I was the very first layout on the tour.  This year there was one less railroad in the area as George Potter passed away and we lost his excellent layout which featured over 400 feet of double mainline.  George was a great person and wonderful modeler.  Since my layout is one of the greatest distance from the Atlanta area I didn't know what to expect for the number of visitors as it's over an hours drive for most people.

SPAM being posted

During the last half hour someone has posted twice something about loans. Once I indicated Spam. Not too much later, the post popped up again so someone is watching the site and re-posting.

Warning - Dangerous saw technique on making throttle pockets

Below is a quote from Joe Fugate on the throttle pocket thread and I thought that is was important enough to have it's own thread so it was "buried" in the original thread.  When using any cutting tool be sure to keep your fingers (and anything else you don't want cut off) a safe distance from the blade.  When necessary use "push sticks" or clamps to hold the work in place.

"It's come to our attention that the video showing this pocket making technique demos hazardous practices using a chop saw.

US manufacturers

I am very frustated by US manufacturers!!

As a new french modelshop (opening process in progress) I can't find any reply of all my demands about trade inquiries from them!!

There is a growing demand of US models here in Europe , ans especially in France, I want to be the first modelshop specialized in US train, they even take time to answer my differents demands!!

I can understand that there is a big market and of course i am not the only one asking something burt after two or three times and two weeks, I think there is a problem!
