No kidding. Am I the only one who gets this message on a regular basis while my computer goes off on a lengthy coffee break?
I'm getting this message on two laptops, one of which is admittedly a bit resource-constrained. The other is less so (and sees the annoying message less often), but it's getting rather frustrating.

Car float apron track details
I have built the Walthers Cornerstone car float kit 933-3152. The car float apron kit 933-3068 is unavailable. Can anyone provide track details from this apron such that I can build my own apron..?

Understanding Operations
I went through my Shipper's Guide and got a list for the towns I am modeling. I am curious how these industries utilized the railroads to transport their goods or raw materials as none of the ones listed here had rail access. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. This would be mid-1950s specific.
* Agricultural Implements
* Banks
* Canning Factories (vegetables)
* Coal Dealer
* Creameries
* Flour, Feed, & Grist Mills
* Foundries
* Fruit & vegetable Dealers
* Grain & Feed Dealers
* Oil Dealers ( additionally does anyone know what the designation do. Stands for? )

Trains and Rains
As much as I love working with grand scale miniature trains, modeling in smaller scales has some distinct advantages. At least I have never been rained out on my HO layout*. But that's what happened this weekend at Little Toot. Saturday was a good, if somewhat hot day, with plenty of riders and old 1963 steaming well for me. At least until a few minutes after 4:00 when the skies darkened, the wind rose and the lightning started to crackle. I don't mind a few drops of rain. I won't melt. I might lump up, but I won't melt. But thunder and lightning sends me scurrying to the train shed.
"Smoke" from Q-tips
I don' t think I'm imagining this! About a year ago I read an article in MRH about using wisps of cotton from Q-tips to simulate smoke from steam locomotives. The author modeled in N scale. Have searched every combo of "smoke", "simulate", "Q-tips", etc that I can think of, but no results. Can anyone tell me the issue the article was in?
Thanks!

Panic on the railroad in 1/4 scale
One thing about working with grand scale trains is experiencing problems that never happen in HO or N in your basement or spare room. At least I hope no one here has ever caught a 140' wood trestle on fire!

Atlantic Coast Line / Charleston & Western Carolina Headlight Arrangement
I have what I hope is a simple question.
I've noticed that the Charleston & Western Carolina (C&WC) locomotives (F7 & GP7) follow parent ACL when it comes to headlight arrangement. The lower light housing is the low and high beam headlights. The upper housing has what appears to be a red Gyralight (commonly used by ACL) and another white light above that (see attached picture of Athearn unit I found).
How was this upper set of lights used? Red Gyra in reverse, or for forward? What did the white light above it do?

Sad News
Sad news today from several sources close to him, that renowned Australian modeler Geoff Nott has passed away. Truly one of the great masters of model scenery. His beautiful Leigh Creek Lumber Company layout (GMR 2000) and Muskrat Ramble layout which is now on display at the Suncoast Center for Fine Scale Modeling, in Odessa, FL. has been a source of inspiration for me and countless others. His fine work will be missed. Condolences to all who knew him personally.
Movie Challenge: Indentify the structure.
This might be a difficult challenge, but I am curious about the identity of a structure I saw in an old B&W movie. The description is;
It was an all wood structure with a wood structure at the top.
It had two sets of sloping tracks going up at about 40 degrees from ground level. The track actually curved up into the slope and ran up straight to the upper structure.
In between the two sets of tracks was a walkway that was used by the characters in the movie to walk up and down.
It was also part of a larger wooden structure.
