MRH Website general discussion

Why does my login take me to my account page?
Just wondering why, when I login to the MRH site, it takes me to my account page.?
i rarely open that page, and I'm not sure other users want to go there first. Personally, I think the login should just keep us on the Recent Posts page. Or, at the very least, it should go the Home page.
Is this another Drupal thing?
Just my 2 cents.
Thanks,
Al

Does anyone else think this is ridiculous??
I just received an email saying that my MR Digital Edition for September is now available for download... Seriously? It's July 20th...
Come on folks, get with it...

BBC Video of the Mallard, 126mph Locomotice
Hi
The BBC website has an interesting video up about the Mallard and her sisters, Pacifics that set the record speed for steam locomotives of 126mph in 1939 - which still stands today. Very streamlined! Nicely done piece on it.

Still another forum suggestion - personal reminders
Since I frequently log on and check to see what has been posted in the forum, but I only have a few minutes to read, I find that I sometimes miss some nice things. Sometimes I'll see that there's a long and involved post which I'd like to devote more time to, other times there's something which I really want to respond to when I have the time.

Another suggestion for the website
When you look at "Recent posts by type", spilt the Topic selection into the forums that the post came from.
For example, allow us to select:
Topic
Website general discussion
Magazine general discussion
Troubleshooting
Modeling general discussion
Getting Started
Dream and Design
Benchwork and roadbed
Track and electrical/DCC

Suggestion for the website
A suggestion:
When we open a topic, It would be nice to be able to sort the posts in the topic by newest or by oldest. The posts in a topic seem to default to oldest, so to see the newer posts in the topic you have to go to the end and then navigate backwards.
Thanks,
Al
looking for model building collections and builders
I'm working on a research project about people who used to (or perhaps still do!) make or collect small buildings as a hobby. I'm talking about small houses, churches, movie theaters, factories, bowling alleys, train stations, stores, and the like—from the ground up (with any material); no kits. For no particular reason--either as models, or as gifts, as a personal memento, to put by the Christmas tree or around the toy railroad track, as a garden club activity or state fair competition, or just as a way to pass the time.
Apple version
Some time ago, I recall a discussion about wanting the magazine on apple's outlets--but apple won't allow free media on their reader. So, the discussion started talking about if there should be a small charge for the magazine so it could be there. Thankfully, MRH didn't kowtow to apple's trying to tell them how to distribute this excellent magazine.
But--perhaps you could create an apple version, costing a dollar. It's exactly the same, except that it says apple version.
