Memorial day to Labor day....an MRH forum challenge for summer 2013
We did this last year and I found it to be great fun and a motivator for me so I'm going to try and get it going this year. The original idea for this came from Bill Michaels last year and he deserves credit so rather than try to repeat everything, here's a quote from his thread in 2012...

Do we have a challenge this year?
Was it last year we had the "challenge" to see what we all could get accomplished on our layouts between Memorial day and Labor day? Anyone interested in doing something like that this year? I've been working on my bridge project long before this weekend but I did get the basic plaster work in place this weekend. I'm going to challenge myself to see how far I can get from this point on to Labor day. Heres a link to my latest blog post with pictures in case anyone wants to take a look. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/14052
Anyone have layout in a storage unit?
Has anyone built a layout in a mini-storage unit? With a hopeless lack of space at home, I am considering this.

Full Editor when posting?
So, This may be a basic issue and I may just be brain dead, but I'm trying to add to post and post a picture along with it...
I watched a little video about adding pictures in the posting, but I don't even see the full editing tool bar... I get nothing but an empty box to type in...
Is there a setting somewhere I need to turn on? I tried IE10 and FF and see the same thing...
Thanks..

Automated computer dispatcher program
Sitting on my back porch having nightly libation while listening to my railroad scanner on my Ipad of RR action in the Jacksonville, FL area and had an idea (a rare thing!). For solo operations it would be neat if I had a way to use a radio interfacing with a computer program (PC, Ipad, whatever) that ran an automated program to imitate a live dispatcher.

Doodlebug coming to the Richlawn RR V2?
Well, I may have lost my mind....but it's my mind (and railroad). On my new (and still developing) track plan I've got a stretch about 11 ft long between two towns and I thought "why not run a Doodlebug back and forth as a excursion?" It just so happens that Walthers had the unit shown below on closeout sale so I picked it up along with an AR2 auto reverser unit. The unit is DCC (no sound) and features lighted interior.
Railroad bridge burns. Reason unknown...
Here is a video of a trestle bridge burning that was spanning the lower Colorado River between San Saba and Lometa, Texas.

A question about the MRH website itself...
Sometimes if I click on the MRH website from my Start/Favorites, or if I do my usual method and click on my desktop shortcut to MRH 'Recent Posts', poke around a bit, then go Windows 7 back-button 'Back' I find I am no longer logged in. Somedays I can go all over the place, all day long, and no problem. Some days only once or twice on the Back button and I'm logged out. I am usually logged in all the time, even if I get here from an outside search engine.
