Is Litchfield Station Still Alive ?

I have sent two emails regarding ESU decoders to two different Litchfield email addresses in the last week and haven't had a response. Can anyone tell me if they have had contact with them recently.

Christmas in August - my visit to see Michael Rose

I am blessed to have an excellent modeler and good friend Michael Rose living about 50 minutes from my home.  You can learn more about Michael's Georgetown & Allen Mountain railroad from his many postings on MRH and also by going to his website, http://www.gamrailroad.com/ .  I got to visit Michael yesterday and as usual had a wonderful time!

Keeping it fun can be a challenge

Here I sit on my back porch having my nightly libation supposibly relaxing and a part of me is saying "shouldn't I be working on my railroad?" After all, I am finally at a place where I can really make some progress. The bench work is coming together nicely, the room is about ready, and I even have part of the track plan printed out full scale. So what's my problem? Well, I suspect that I have the same problem that many of you also have - that being finding a balance. If I don't work enough and progress fast enough then I feel guilty.

Allagash Railway Photos! - New Sharon diesel fueling pad

Hey guys

Here are a few photos of the most recent project on the Allagash Railway.

Something For Everyone

You gotta hand it to the Brits. They've got more rail and model rail publications than any nation on the face of the earth and all that with a population roughly equal to the combined populations of California and Texas.

3-D printing timing

In 1983 I was able to convince the Board of the not-for-profit agency that I ran that it would be cost-effective to buy a hard drive to replace the 8" IBM floppy disks we we using for storage. We purchased a Corvus 5 Kb (that's 5,000 BYTES OF INFO) unit housed in a 12" cube for $5,000! Just tickled. Today, of course, terabyte capacity is purchased in Costco for a couple of hundred dollars. Driven by demand, ultra fine, multicolor 3-D printing is now years, not decades away. All honor to those in every field who are buying and experimenting and pushing things along for the rest of us.

Difference between a "Reply" and a "Comment" in forum posts?

Is there any difference between clicking on "Reply" under a particular person's post versus just adding a "Comment" at the bottom of the thread?

They both just seem to end at the bottom of the thread.

Thanks,

Al

modeling telephone poles

I really want to add a string of telephone poles on my layout. I really want to scratch build them with mainly wood, but I need some help. Advise, tips, and ideas would really be helpful. I have no inspiration and I know when I jump into something without foresight it ends up a mess. Pictures would be awesome too if possible.

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever thought about submitting an article or tip to MRH?

"I'm not a writer." That's exactly what I said when my railroad buddy Scott Perry suggested that I write an article and submit it. But then I thought - "What do I have to lose?" I still don't consider myself a writer, but I do have a number or articles published in MRH.
