Yet another paint stripping question, ScaleTrains.com

I've seen most of the assorted "what do I use to strip the paint off of..." most manufacturers products.

But I haven't seen ScaleTrains.com mentioned yet. And I have an SD40-2 that I'd like to strip the Santa Fe paint off of, so I can repaint it into my home road colors (which likely will never be offered commercially).

Electric motor

I am having a difficult time finding a motor for my heisler. My problem is finding one with a 2.25mm shaft. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help...

Assembling Tichy trucks

So, I just opened an old, but new, Tichy Trains reefer kit.  The kit includes three piece trucks that must be assembled.  However, there is nothing in the instructions that that say how to assemble these.  Other kits I've built with assembled trucks have a tight snap together.  These have little hooks on the ends of bolster that appear like they should snap in place, but the fit is very loose.  Does anyone know if one is supposed to glue these together?  Am I missing something?

Thanks for any insights.

Looking for some very vintage HO scale trucks

I am trying to find a few pairs of old Red Ball T-2 style trucks.  Also their number T-16 trucks.  Perhaps some of you guy's still have some of these old parts kicking around or perhaps someone knows of a shop that might deal with older parts like this from the early 1950's era or thereabout...   …..  this is a link to an old red ball truck catalog ……     https://hoseeker.org/redball/redballcatalog11pg36.jpg?fbclid=IwAR0oFRl2p...

Minitrains questions

I am thinking about getting one of the HOn30 Minitrains sets.  Where (US address) is a good plae to source them?

How hard is it to swap their couplers for Microtrains ones?

The minitrains will represent an industrial railroad interchanging with the Great North Central (The merger of the Sandy Rover and Rangely Lakes with the Wiscasset, Waterville, and Farmington.  Amazing how railroads that small (2 feet wide) get such long names!

USRA locomotives wheel diameter

I'm in the way to kit build some N scale locomotives.

I own the steam Encyclopedia but sorry it's somewhere in a box in my garage because of my move in Quebec;  with around 100 box to search from, I forget it for now.

My question is the following;

USRA designed standard steam locomotives for all the railroad use

I need to know the standard  diameter of the locomotives wheel (no truck) of the USRA design

- For USRA Pacific

- For USRA Heavy and light Mikado

Decals over weathering

I have a covered hopper I weathered and sealed with a flat coat, I want to add road initials etc . Do i need to strip the weathering?

weathering locos and rolling stock

At this time I do not own an air brush, I hear there are not easy clean up..So far I have been applying Testers Clear coat prior to weathering locos and rolling stock with chalks, pan pastels, I also apply a top coat after weathering..It appears to leave behind a slight egg shell finish, Unevenly clear with hints of sheen here ne there. Has anyone experienced this? Did I over spray maybe? Does anyone have any recommendations on a better product in an aerosol can?

never mind found some great posts from 2017 on this topic...

Help with re-motoring a brass Heisler.

I need some help with advice and locating a DCC electric motor. I acquired a brass heisler and want to set it up to run DCC on my layout. I just do not know where to find a motor or what motor to use. If anyone has done such conversion I would be very interested in what you did. Thanks for all help.
