Help identifying HO Scale 0-4-0 SP Tanker and SP diesel locomotive

Received such great help to my last question, thought I'd try again

Could I get some help identifying these HO Trains

  • SP Oil Tanker. It's made of metal, and weighs 9 oz.
  • SP Diesel Engine. Feels like metal. Weighs 16 oz. Has a stamping of 41018 on bottom

Inherited as one of several engines from my father who was avid modeler. I'm considering which to keep for my kids and which to sell.

No mfgr notation anywhere.

Pics below in the next post.

Trainland/Trainworld NY

Has anyone shopped on line at Train Land ? Train world? Out of  NY ...

pulpwood cars

Does Athearn still put out their 40ft pulpwood cars, cant find any, anywhere...?

Prototype for these Rivarossi cars?

Anyone know the prototype road(s) for these Rivarossi HO head end cars sold painted for NYC? The baggage car is 73' (71' body)and the baggage/RPO is 70' (67'6" body)

MRL 7544

Once I went to the LHS and Bill was there saying he couldn't sell a Kato SD45 for $50.  I casually mentioned that was a good deal.  Anyway, next time I went in there was a Kato SD45 waiting for me, $50, please.  I guess I have an SP SD45 with DCC now.  I don't model SP but MRL had some former SP SD45s.  The model was already sort of weathered and outfitted with the SP light package and DCC.

Rapido Royal Hudson jerky running at lowest speed setting

I’m finally giving my Rapido Royal Hudson a proper test run after replacing and glueing one of the rear driver traction tyres which came off for the second time. ????

Well that seems ok now (a thin smear of rubber cement) but I’ve noticed a distinct jerkiness in forward and reverse at speed level 1 (28 speed steps) on my NCE PowerCab controller. All the valve gear motion etc seems fine, it doesn’t seem to be binding anywhere.

Has anyone else come across this problem with a Rapido Hudson?

Models of New Zealand Railroads Equipment

I am interested in collecting/operating some different HO scale models of various New Zealand railroads, e.g,. Kiwi Railway, etc. The only models I have been able to locate are made by Frateschi, a Brazilian model train manufacturer, and not much is known here in the USA about their model train business.

Quality, performance, and prototype detail are important to me. I have not been able to locate many reviews of the Frateschi models, most being from several years ago.

DCC sound equiped

whats the best DCC sound installed locos on the market? and at the end of the day, is 50 to 100 $ more worth it? if I am NOT a Rivet counter?

bachmann S4

debating purchasing, Bachmann S$ DCC ready for 50$ and one for 40$ what decoder do I need ?? or is the Bachmann S4 Dcc sound equipped at 99$ just a better deal?

Arrggghhh - Proto 2000 Heritage 0-8-0 split gear

The subject line sums it up.   The #4 axle with the gear is split, so are 2 other axles.

I have done 3 of these 0-8-0's in the last year for friends (install Tsunami, LED lighting, etc) and dodged this problem, looks like loco #4 is going to be the problem child.

Reading the various threads on MRH and MRR indicate that Walther's doesn't carry the parts and doesn't want to deal with the locos built before they bought the Life-Like brand.

NWSL?  Thoughts?
