ATSF 3400 Class 4-6-2, Ho scale starting point BLI or Bachmann?

Dear all,

I hope that this post finds you all well and healthy. Given that i am entertaining the idea of a 2nd era option (1951) for my 1969 era layout, i was looking at options for getting a 3400 class 4-6-2 ATSF heavy pacific.  This is in order to end up with ATSF 3444 or 3443 which were leading local passenger trains at the Pasadena subdivision back in 1951. These locos had 79" drivers, oil-tenders, 6-wheel trucks on the tenders etc...

Power Problem HO Atlas GP7

Have a new undecorated HO Atlas GP7 locomotive that came with a LokSound decoder.

Initial test run it seemed to run fine including sound.  Afterwards, I removed the shell to start the painting process.  Later, without the shell on, I fired up the layout again to change the sound options on the locomotive.  That’s when the power issue started.

Atlas RS11 DCC Shell

I have an Atlas RS11 DCC no sound, the shell and handrails took some damage, but Chassis is running fine, is the Atlas RS11 Chassis interchangeable with other  locomotive Atlas shells or do I have to search for an RS shell??

Bushing attachment.

What is the best way to attach bushings to a motor shaft?

Thanks...

Atlas Locomotive window

Have an un-decorated Atlas HO GP7 (newer release) I am taking apart to paint.  The window piece for the cab section is being very stubborn when attempting to remove. (Appears to be one piece)

Is this piece “glued” to the top of the cab?  If not, is there a trick on removing without breaking?

Masking the windows is an option but being able to remove the window piece would be preferred.

53' well cars

I have 18" ish curves mostly out of sight. Would a 3 car set of double stack well cars negotiate these curves maybe with the longer shaft kdee couplers.? Appearance is not an issue,  also how tall are these in ho scale with double stacked containers?

Thank you

passenger train diaphragms

I have acquired a F-7A and B set of powered Stewarts and 7 Athearn passenger cars for my my home road, Skyview Lines. As I strip and repaint i want to super detail and decal. I have found two types of diaphragms for the streamline Athearns, one is full body width and the other normal door width.

Did many lines use the wide ones and does anyone have experience with them? The picture seems to show the paint job going right across the material, making me wonder if that was typical and would it hold up to use in the prototype or HO.
