Converting a 89' Flat car into a Stella Jones log car

Here's my latest Modern Log car conversion, I hope you find it interesting:

Here in the Pacific Northwest, one of the products produced locally and shipped nationally is utility poles.  There are several types of converted or specialty built 89' log cars used for this purpose currently in service, most of them are similar to this one.

G E 70 ton locomotive

Does anyone make a G.E. 70 ton locomotive model, other than Bachmann?

Walthers Proto 2000 U23B

In the market for an HO U23B with DCC and Sound.  Noticed Walther's is running a sale on theirs at a really good price. Plus, I like the fact Walther's uses a Tsunami sound decoder versus the Atlas U23B which use the QSI decoder.  "Not a fan of the QSI decoders"

However, the sale price is such that I am a little suspicious of the quality given I have never purchased a Proto 2000 locomotive. Does anyone have any experience with Proto 2000 U23B/U30B models or Proto 2000 locomotives in general?

Help Identify This 0-6-0T Locomotive

Moose picked up this wee beastie, an HO scale 0-6-0T that Moose no find manufacturer or part number listed. Weighs a tonne!

Appears to be a Porter based on some photos Moose find online, but none quite match up...

Does anyone know anything about this locomotive, model or its intended prototype?

Changing the tender on a Bachmann 0-6-0 (or 2-6-0) (N scale)

So I found an N-scale Bachmann Spectrum Nickel Plate Road tender with a healthy price reduction and bought it, thinking along the lines of 'With this I can probably take various steam locos produced in different road names and make them into NKP locos'.

I was wondering if anyone has tried attaching this tender to the Bachmann 2-6-2 (which I have one of already, but which the Nickel Plate Road never did, so far as I can tell from the Historical Society's steam roster), or, to the Bachmann 0-6-0?

Plymouth MDT/GE35 Ton Switcher

I am looking to re-motor an HO Plymouth MDT / GE 35 Ton Switcher. This particular model was manufactured in Yugoslavia, It has a three pole motor and single drive axle that when enough voltage is applied, it takes off like a rocket; not what you want for a switcher. I want to add DCC and sound, if possible, I think an n-scale decoder and speaker would fit if an appropriate motor can be found. I have looked at the Stanton drives from NWSL but their largest wheelbase is 10-feet. I measure the wheelbase of the loco as 11.5-feet.

Information

I was just at a train show in San Antonio and picked up a locomotive made by American Hobby Masters. I got it for a steal and it runs great on my layout , however I am thinking about putting DCC in it and would like some information on it. Any insight would be helpful.

Bachmann 4-4-0 Domes

I've got a couple HO scale Bachmann "modern" 4-4-0 steam locomotives, one operable, and the other basically a parts donor.  I'd like to swap the steam and sand domes between the locos.  I tried gently twisting one off the donor loco, but it didn't want to budge.  Does anyone know whether they are glued on or simply a friction fit?  Or are they secured by a screw inside the boiler (I haven't disassembled either loco yet)?

Thanks in advance,

-Jack
