Lynden, WA
Hello,
Has anyone in the group modeled Lynden, WA or has information about Lynden, WA? I have maps and drawings of the track layout in Lynden but the time periods are far apart. I am most interested in the 1970's or late 70's time frame. I have found pictures on several sites that gives me some ideas but I could use more detail/information.
Thanks
Michael
containers
have any out there noticed any container yards getting filled up with empty containers?
the local one in stockton is getting full. and they have expanded there storage area.
( cost me a bit in $$—fuel and truck needs tires) but might try a trip to look at the oakland area container yards.

Cars lettered for very short short lines
Hey All,
I was wondering if anyone has heard of a short line railroad operating a very short amount of trackage (=> 100km of mainline) having cars lettered for the railroads name? Is the something that was ever done or were cars from larger railroads used on those lines?
Thanks in advance!
Steam Powered Snowplow 2020 video
Outstanding scenery, sound and video. The dead silence of winter and whistle sounds echoing through the mountains.

Attempting to understand Interchange of Cars over a third railroad's trackage (in a city)
I asked this question in the other thread, and there was no answer, though it was a bit off topic, and I did say it as if it was rhetorical, or just as a thought that I need to look into myself. The problem is, i'm not sure where to find the answer other than asking in forums like this.
Windows and sunshades
What is the logic behind window configurations and sunshades on switcher cabs?
I'll use the MP15DC as an example. Here is a picture of one with full windows, sunshades, and some sort of wind deflector.

Understanding origins of railroads in Pittsburgh, PA
I am proto-freelancing a railroad that existed but became part of the PRR. I tweak history and instead of the Allegheny Valley Railway becoming a part of the PRR, it instead is reformed into the Pennsylvania & Allegheny RR.
CN offset triple hopper
Does anyone know when CN replaced the smaller lettering on their triple hoppers with the 12 inch lettering?

Happy 50th Birthday Burlington Northern!
