AS 616 Replacement Trucks

I have an original HO scale Stewart AS 616, the one that uses and Athearn type drive with the three axle trucks. I have found that there is enough play in the center axle that allows the axle to drop out of the gearing. This seems to be caused by the bottom gearbox cover being too flexible. Has anyone replaced these trucks and what did you use. I would like to use the commonwealth side-frames that came with the original trucks. I have contacted Bowser and they do not have a replacement.

Conrail MT4 and MT6 Help

Reading another thread and the subject of slugs came up.

This had me thinking about one of my favorite fallen flags. Conrail..

I did some looking and from what I can tell Conrail only used GP10 rebuilds mated to MT4 slugs,

and only the SD38s with the MT6 slugs...

I have not come across any oddball units being wired for "mother" service.

Can anybody think of a unit other then a GP10 or SD38 mated to a slug for Conrail?

AHM 0-8-0 Switcher - HO-Scale Trains Resource

hidden box's

going through a number of storage boxes so far i have found 20 auto cars, and 10 mega auto parts box cars. (plus some with no frames). then the extra long pig flats (count? looks to be another 10). my container train (rolling stock only) must be a good 50+ feet long.

and the layout i am trying to build will have the min main of about 32 inches. kinda tight for all this.

i need a far bigger place to build my empire. good thing i live alone. thinking a couple holes in a wall to use one of the bedrooms also. (using the front room now).

WOW, freight car prices

I saw this posting on another forum and it brought to mind a question I had involving the latest pricing of individual freight cars in HO scale,
