Adhesive For Corrugated Aluminum Roofing

I have a rather large warehouse (28 X 14) with a low pitch peaked roof made from styrene. I'm going to be installing some pre-fab corrugated aluminum roofing to it and can't decide what to use for an adhesive.

What's your go-to adhesive for installing these to styrene ?

Nice weathering example for roads with timber crossing

I happened to see this photo and found the road and wooden crossing interesting. Note the road grime continues over the wooden timbers for the crossing. Both the medium gray and the two darker stripes continue over the wooden crossings. This gives an alternative to the "fresh" timbers typically used on layouts I see.

Modern Sanding Towers

Hello all. Looking for some info. I am going to scratchbuilt a couple of modern sanding towers for my layout, but I haven't been able to find any exact dimensions and specs. Things like height of tower. Size of sand container. Length of hoses. Etc. Anyone have any ideas on where to find that info?

Weathering bridge abutments - help needed

I have several Walthers 'concrete' bridge abutments that I'll be using with 'steel' girder bridges.  I want to weather the abutments with the appearance of streaking rust from the bridges and general dirt from water runoff.  I've experimented with oil paints, pastels and my wife's scrapbooking inks and dyes but I can't quite capture the right look.

Logging Camp Operations

General questions on just how does a logging camp operate on a daily basis? Does the engine take the crew car and empty log carrying cars up to the logging site in the morning, and then go back during the day to pick up the loaded cars and take them to the log pond? Finally does the engine then go back to the camp to pick up the workers at the end of the day?

New building for the Visalia Electric. Auto repair shop. Flats fixed.

With all the roads I have on my layout I thought that it would be appropriate to model a repair shop/tire repair business that looked at home.

In progress. Mostly details to the asphalt parking area to be added and placing it into the scene.

Structure Lighting using Leds

i am currently working on a small Rix kit and placed a 3mm white led on the inside ceiling to light the first floor of the building. The issue I am having is that there is a bright concentrated light spot on the floor. Im not sure how I can diffuse the light to reduce the spotlight effect. I am also wondering if smd leds provide more of a flooding illumination, rather than a bright spotlight. I also put a small drop of tamiya clear orange on the led and that gives it a more yellowish light. However, now there is a yellow spot on the floor. Any ideas?

Ground foam vs. leaves

On my current layout I am wanting to improve the realistic detail.

In the past, for trees, I have used a foliage material followed by a sprinkle of ground foam.

Curious if a product like "Noch leaves" offers a better result than basic ground foam.

Thoughts?

HO Structure Lighting Thoughts

Some of you may have seen the sketches I've been working on for light sequencing in the "A Modelers Introduction to the Arduino" (https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/mrh2016-12-dec/arduino?page=7) and I've been thinking of how to implement it. I've decided that one approach would be to include a basement on all lighted structures. The Arduino nano and its clones are small and have a micro-USB port for power.
