Water
Folks,
I've built several layouts over the years, and have used Envirotex Lite to simulate (still) water. As most of us know, it has a tendency to creep up the edges and sides of the water body (harbor, lake, stream, etc).
My question is for those of you that have used products "Magic Water" and "Realistic Water" - do they also tend to creep similar to the Envirotex product? Any other product that you might recommend?
Thanks,
Al Carter

Walthers Transfer Table Part # 933-3131
A while back, I found the old Walthers Transfer table, the non-indexed with narrow bridge and exposed wheels, version. It was my usual very cheap find. It was in complete kit form and I thought, it might be fun to build. Well, let's just say that I beginning to understand why this thing was discontinued.

Water flowing from pipes, looking for new ideas
Maybe I'm just not searching with the right terms but I'm having some difficulty finding modeled examples of this and/or how to. I'm not talking about torrents of water, I could use waterfall modeling techniques for that, but more just a trickle of water emanating from pipes coming from a retaining wall. The old method from years ago is to use a piece of cellophane tape or wire coming from the pipe down to the ground and then flowing Duco cement over it.

Stone Arch Viaduct / Bridge
Stone Arch Viaduct / Bridge
I've included both names as I have seen folks address them with either name. I think what I am trying to create is principally a viaduct, but yesterday I inserted a bridge in a portion of it. I did it in a straight track portion, so I could alternately allow for it to be included in the final trackwork, or perhaps not.
HO Steam Shovel
Good morning.
Would like to "build" a small "mom and pop" gravel pit set in the 1940/1960 era time frame on a midwestern HO layout.
Unable to locate an HO scale Steam Shovel or similar to load gravel and sand, etc. into gons and/or hoppers.
Ho Scale Industrial Oxygen Tanks
Does anyone have a good source for Ho Scale industrial oxygen tanks? The ones I’m looking for would be (I’m guessing on this one) 20ft-30ft tall and probably 10ft-12ft around. I bought a few off of Shapeways, but they’re way too small. Thanks in advance.
Looking for advice on backdrop scene
Hello,
I'm new to the forum but have been a long-time reader.
I've started building a new layout in the spare bedroom of my house. I can't use the whole room so It will be a shelf-style affair on three sides of the room. The shelves will be about 16-17 inches wide.
The layout will be roughly based on the iron ore operations in northern Minnesota. I don't have space for a mainline so the focus will be on yard operations, with the trains coming in from a hidden section to be sorted.

Hi,
Stag Horn Sumac and Alanthis (Tree of Heaven)
I’m modeling the Upper Appalachians and would like to represent both the Stag Horn Sumac and Alanthis (Tree of Heaven). Not sure if I spelled Alanthis right. The Sumac is a native tree and the Alanthis is a non-native, invasive. Both of these trees are similar to one and another and the difference would not be seen in Ho Scale other than the “stag horns” of the Sumac. Do any of you think if I pruned an N or Z Scale Palm leaf and carefully glued it to a really thin and short, home made armature that it would work?
