New ESU LokSound / Allagash Full Throttle Video

Hello Everyone,

Earlier this week Mike Confalone hosted ESU for a small video shoot to showcase some fo the new "Full Throttle" features. We will do more later this year, but we wanted to show some footage of the capabilities of the LokSound "Full Throttle" files on the mountain going up and coming down. These great new files fit right in to Mike's outstanding scenery!

How does one use Micro Engineering Rail Joinners on Atlas Track?

Although i have some Micro Engineering Code 83 Flex Track, most of what I have is the Atlas "Super Flex" Code 83 Track.  It may not be as accurate as the ME track, but COST is an issue, and I am more interested in the MACRO vs the MICRO issues when it comes to building a layout.  That said, I don't want to use the Atlas Rail Joinners as they stick out like a sore thumb.  Lack of detail is one thing, but oversized rail joinners is a distraction.  But as I try to use the M.E. rail joinners the bottom of the web on the Atlas track is wider.

Tortoise controllers

Ok everyone. Im having a hard time deciding on what type of control system to use to control my switch machines. I have about a dozen installed now and most of them are in areas that are not easy to get at. So I have been looking at different manufactures and their products and cant make up my mind. I am currently using a Digitrax system with A DB150 which I do plan to upgrade, UR91 radio receiver, DT400D throttle and an old computer running windows XP and an older version of JMRI.

Tsunami 2 sound decoder

See this youTube video regarding the features of the Tsunami 2 premium sound decoder as demonstrated by George from Soundtraxx. More information should officially come from Soundtraxx later today or tomorrow, as May 25 was the company's official release date for this information.

Much progress, none visible.

For the past few months I have been wiring, installing switch machines, programming DCC, soldering drops to the power buss, wiring, going back and dividing the DCC into blocks, cleaning track, adjusting turnouts, fine-tuning turntables, wiring ...

...and there is NO visible change.  For months.  Ok, well, you either see piles of wiring crud on the layout or not, when it is packed away in boxes.

Digitrax PR3 Programming

I use JMRI Decoder Pro interfaced through the PR3 with a Power-pax between the PR3 and the program track.  Does anybody know if I use the PR3 with its own power supply, can I eliminate the power-pax.

DC Auto Polarity Reverser

On my new track layout I have two Reverse Loops to deal with. I would appreciate some info on good DC Auto Polarity Reverse products. Thanks

Interurban sounds

Is there anything available in DCC sound decoders for interurban equipment, RDCs, and/or "doodlebugs"?

Spring loaded turnout points

Note quite sure what this type of turnout is called, here is what I want to accomplish.

I have a reverse loop that I want the train to always enter the same way. At present I am using a PSX-AR to control the turnout but that throws the turnout as a train traverses the reverse loop, not what I want.

Am I looking at some sort of spring to apply just enough pressure on the points to hold them in one position yet light enough to allow my lightest rolling stock to pass through without derailment?

Any advise or recommendations?

Thanks,

John

FVM HO GP60 Poor Pickup

Just purchased A FVM GP60 in HO early run with Loksound, it seems it has horrible pick up drops out continually, I have an Atlas RS3 that runs the same track (non sound) with no problems, no flicker of the LED head lights. How does the FVM trucks pick up power ?  Anyone else have this problem.  Thanks Zeke
