Track and electrical/DCC

upgrading to DCC for my turnout motors

Hello, hope everyone is good. I have a question and I can't find a satisfying answer through a Google search. I'm already a subscriber to TMTV so, I figured I would sign up for MRH since I'm already close by. I currently have my turnouts wired through a simple panel, dpdt sub mini toggles. I like having my panel and the leds wired in but. I have decided I would like to switch to DCC controlled turnouts. I've upgraded my system and have accessory functions now.

Finding a short

I just finished running a set of bus wires down the peninsula, soldering and connecting all the feeders. Power up and instant short. I've checked everything I can think of, but no luck. What is weird is that all four districts are lighting up on the PM42 when it shorts. If I disconnect the two bus wires, all is good. Touch either bus wire to the PM42 output, all four districts light up. I've checked that all the feeders are to the correct track, nothing is on the tracks.

Wireless throttles for DCC++

I'm a big fan of DIY electronics and Dave Bodnar has posted here about the DCC++ project. I wish there was more buzz about it so I am going to post what I found this morning.

Dave has developed hand held throttles for DCC++ and his latest is a wireless throttle with both potentiometer and encoder controllers. It's all detailed on his website which you can gather from this video he has posted.

Question to Owners of Layouts who host regular Op Sessions - What type of Ground Throws on the actual Turnout do you use

Now for those who just "model" the switch stands and use some sort of fascia control is not what I'm thinking of.  I am not too concerned about photographing the scene so out of scale ground throws are not a major concern to me.

This is what I am thinking of and I would like feedback if A) Do you think this would work and B) Do you have any other idea that might work.

Program Boosters

I am looking at adding  a DCC Specialties PowerPax Programming Booster to my MRC Prodigy Advance system.  I am looking for feed back from anyone who is using this booster. I have a mix of sound decoders but most are soundtrax.

Why is a Diverging Route oif #6 Turnout and a 48"Radius about the same thing?

I have a situation where I need a turnout with the "Diverging Route" is actually for the Main (so it technically is the "Normal Route" but will refer to it as Diverging so there is no confusion - hopefully).  For this situation I usually use a #12 Turnout because the only turnouts on the main that are not #12 are for spurs, and that is only if the spur is on the "diverging" route of the turnout.  If not, it should be a #12, but a #12 will not fit this situation.

How to mount NCE RPT1 Repeater Attenna's

Before I seal off access to the ceiling of the basement, I realized I should start acquiring NCE RPT1 Reapeater Antenna's.  I plan on having at minimum nine, and possibly as many as 15.  The reason is my concern with all the metal (the walls and benchwork are made from metal studs)  plus as many as 15 people will be in the  aisles, there will be plenty to absorb and/or interfere with the radio signals coming from the CAB06 throttles and  though I will have UTP panels for emergency use to acquire a locomotive, for normal operation the CAB06 throttles will be the
