Track and electrical/DCC

Installing DCC in my brass engine
I have been working on installing a Tsunami decoder in my West Side Lumber Co 3 truck Shay. The Shay is a brass PBL Shay in Sn3 (S scale 3 foot narrow gauge).
I was able to slip the decoder in the boiler and install a speaker in the tender. The lights are 0402 SMD LEDs in the headlight and backup light.
I shot a video with my iPhone, I still need to tune the sounds with JMRI, I would like to choose a better whistle and tune the chuffs. The Shay is running smooth and I am able to get it to crawl nice and slow.
Attached is a video in YouTube.

Digitrax UT4D Throttle/Tech Support Issue, Need Help/Advice
The bottom line:
I just want my Digitrax UT4D throttle to work.
Summary:
I sent in my UT4D for repair back in April and after two trips to Digitrax and about $80 later, it still doesn’t work in radio mode. I have lost faith in the tech support folks and want to contact someone else at Digitrax who can help. If I have to buy a new throttle, I would rather look at investing in another DCC system.
The whole story:
Decoder starts a step 3 instead of 1 Why?????
Hey guys I am trying to speed match all my locos but I am finding that some start with 3 on the throttle and increase in speed by 3's. 3,6,9,12 etc. I have some others that start on 1. The loco's that start on the 3s don't start moving until I get to 12. I have tried increasing CV2 start volts but that doesn't seem to do anything. I bought a few of these locos used with decoders so not sure what decoder is in them. The others have a Digitrax decoder.
digitrax soundbug for older kato drive units.
does anybody use the soundbug decoders for older kato drive locos?

Two decoders in the same loco problems...
Hello everyone,
I guess I tackled more than I was able to chew with this one!
After hearing so many good things about Tsunami's decoder, I got myself a nice AT1000. They only problem is that I needed 6 outputs and it has only four! No problem, I have a TCS FL4 that I got for another project that I can use. So I need ditch lights at the front and rear.
DCC 101 Help
I am new to the hobby after years of longing. That said I've read a lot about DCC and all the cool things it does for MRR. Does anyone know of a DCC 101 type website or manual? I've done a few searches and come up empty or finding sites with partial information.

Would this setup work for LEDs connection?
Hi guys,
I'm back with a question about DCC decoder and LEDs. I have to connect 4 LEDs to the front and 4 to the rear (2 for headlights and 2 for ditchlights each side) on my next loco. Instead of having a gazillion wires inside the shell going from the decoder to the LEDs, would this be a possible solution?

The new LCC (Layout Command Control) Standard?
There's been some discussion of the new LCC (Layout Command Control) standard that's an add-on of sorts to DCC to allow an accessory bus to take command traffic of the DCC command bus, leaving the main DCC command bus to just be sending train commands.
Let's continue the LCC discussion here.
Adding Sound Decoder to Brass Shay Loco
I am planning to add a Tsunami Sound Decoder (TSU-750) with a QSI 8 Ohm Speaker to my HO United Brass 2- Truck Shay. I checked out the DC power transfer from track to motor. The front and rear set of trucks are separately isolated by left and right track power to the motor, as they should be, - however the frame also has electrical continuity from THIS right side power pick-up. I am removing the old open frame motor and will is

Digitrax vs TCS mobile decoders
I am planning on purchasing several decoders to upgrade my locomotives to dcc. The engines are dcc ready, so its just a matter of plugging the harness into the nmra socket. My question is one manufacturer more realiable than the other, or are they both equal in performance? I am using a Digitrax command system.
