DCC++ issue

  I have been following the DCC++ threads on several forums and finally bought a 2560 Mega processor and a Motor Shield.  I downloaded the IDE drive code and configured/installed it, as well as the current Base Station code(compiled/uploaded to the processor).  I have a 15VDC/2 amp wall wart attached to the Motor Shield.

Gluing track to a roundhouse floor -- advice needed

I am at the point of gluing down the rails inside the roundhouse. Can anyone recommend the best way to do this? I thought at one point I read that Ted Culotta in his Essential Freight Car articles was mixing 50/50 MEK and Barge cement to fix metal detail parts to his freight cars.

Is a capacitor needed across the speaker?

Soundtraxx diagrams show a capacitor when speakers are connected to the decoder.  Maybe I missed the detail in the manual  -

Where is a description of the capacitor size and connections, with wire colors?

What kind of cable does MRC Prodigy use

Morning all.  Does somebody know what type of cable is used on the MRC Prodigy?  The cable that connects the handheld to the prodigy itself.  I wanted to get some extension plates but they are out of stock.  Started thinking it might be easier just to buy the pieces/parts and build it myself.  Thanks.

Electronic Module Test Rig

I am by no means an expert in electronics, being a dabbler only, and thought I would post this as it may assist others in their experiments with electronic modules.

I needed a simple and versatile setup where I could test prototypes and assembled modules and came up with this idea that works well for me.

Pseudo CTC Switch Control - Parts Question

Hi everyone,

I was looking through back issues and came upon this excellent CTC article.

Block Detection and Eventual JMRI Turnout Control

I've got a layout with a Digitrax Zephyr Extra as the Control Station, a DC100 used as a booster and PM42 used to handle power management and a reversing section.  I'm beginning to think through the process of adding a BDL 168 to allow for block detection, signaling and eventual JMRI control.  My switches are controlled from 2 panels that use Berrett Hill touch toggles to change the tortoise switch machines.

Trouble w/ Kato double-crossover

My Kato double crossover is not throwing all the turnouts correctly. One or sometimes two of the turnouts don't throw all the way over when I activate the crossover. The slide on the sides are visibly sticking, preventing the bars from being completely thrown. Is there something I can use to help the plastic bar on the side from throwing all the way??

Thanks-Tim
