Track and electrical/DCC

Just throwing this out there! Digitrax Sound Decoders and PR3-Anyone using them?
Are any of you out there using the Digitrax sound decoders along with the PR3 programmer?
If so, how do you like it? Ease of use? Sound quality? Making your own sound files?
I know other manufactures have options but just interested in the Digitrax setup for right now.

Econami FX3 to FX6 issues
Good day all,,
I have installed an Econami in my Athearn GP35E and something weird is happening. When I run the engine with all the lights off, I can see a faint glow in the LEDs assigned to these functions Used for Ditchlights). I have played around in JMRI, checked the wiring, but everything seems ok.
Does anybody have a clue of what is causing this?
Thank you in advance,
Chris
best device for engine sounds ho scale non DCC

Crossing flashers
I have 3 grade crossings to put in with flashers. So far the only thing ive seen for detection is optic sensors. I have heard the opto sensors dont work too good in dim lighting. Im also wanting to have some night time ops as well, so what other options are there?

810140 Currentkeeper installed on a GN1000 Soundtraxx board?
I just purchased a 810140 Currentkeeper to be installed in my Athearn Genesis GP7 which has a Soundtraxx board. On the back of the Soundtraxx board it says it is a TSU-GN1000 board.
1) None of the three installation illustrations matches the board I have.
2) It sounds like I need to remove the current capacitor... ????
3) Yes... I am very much over my head.
Can anyone point me to a guide (written or video) that can help?

For those attending Trainfest this weekend
...could you PLEASE stop by the ESU booth and provide any updates (including VIDEOS with SOUND!!) of their soon to be released Steam Locomotive Sound decoders!!!!
They had one EARLY "test" model on display at the RPM-Chicagoland Conference last week, and they are still mopping up the drool I left!!! :-D

DCC success and a question @ lights CVs
Success! I finally got the JMRI reading the loco through the NCE system. It is so much easier to program the loco when you can see all the CV values at once.
Questions about lighting:
How to debug a basic lighting problem?
I got a loco with an earlier Soundtraxx sound decoder. Sounds great, moves nicely, but does not provide light.
Jumpers for Euorpean Type Barrier Strips
I've been wondering about the European style of barrier strips/terminal blocks (or whatever you want to call them). To me they seem to be easier to work with because you don't (I think) have to strip wire or fumble with adding lugs. I've been using the American type because I easily understand the concept of jumpers and I frequently use them to connect two or more terminals. But how do you do the same thing with the European style? I have been using Marathon's double row terminals.

Circuitron grade crossing detection
I was wondering if anybody has used Circuitron grade crossing detection. Im thinking about going with the DF-3 but I dont know much about them.
