Is a capacitor needed across the speaker?

Soundtraxx diagrams show a capacitor when speakers are connected to the decoder. Maybe I missed the detail in the manual -
Where is a description of the capacitor size and connections, with wire colors?

Capacitor?
A capacitor across the speaker will kill high frequency. I haven't seen this-- which diagram are you referring to?
There will be a capacitor inside the decoder to smooth out digital sampling and switching noise-- we don't need to worry about that.
