HO Scale Pilot Mounted Ditch Lights

I've been scouring the web for different sources, but have not had much luck.  I had a set of the pilot mounted ditch lights from Details Associates, at least I believe they were.  These are just the housings for the front of the pilot not the top of the walkway version.  I'm using them for EMD installations on Wisconsin Central units as seen here:

Has anyone had any luck finding these or a suitable replacement from a different MFG?

Rapido LRC consisting challenge: lights & sound

I hope someone more experienced in DCC can help me out with this! I'm the proud owner of two Rapido Trains LRC locomotives and a string of LRC coaches.

I'd like to set them up as “pull-pull” locomotives, one on each end of the train, to use at Fremo meets (our Fremo group uses a Digitrax system).

Dear MRHers, Diesel shortline fans,

Was cruising thru this week's "WPF" thread and saw Kevin R's gorgeous shortline 70 tonners.

It started me thinking.

QSI Q1a decoders: can identical locos have their engine sounds slightly de-synced?

I am MU'ing two identical Walthers H10-44 switchers, each outfitted with a factory-installed QSI Q1a decoder. I cannot find any information in the literature on how to make each engine sound a tiny bit different from the other so that it is obvious there are two prime movers working.

I also have some Tsunami decoders that have this available as an option and it really makes a difference in sound when a consist goes rumbling by.

Trouble with engines

Good evening forum, I need some help with a problem I am experiencing. I just finished setting up my mainline and proceeded to test it with one of my engines. I have a GP 9 from Athearn (3153FW) and when I attempted to run this I would get power in places and some sparking from the engine. I then tried an SD40-2 Snoot from Athearn #4808) and no sparking but the same situation as the GP 9 intermittent power on different areas of the track. I then put my Bachman Spectrum GE 70 ton Diesel (#81108) on the track and it ran beautifully without any issues.

Lead or Zinc?

This topic has probably been covered before, but I am wondering if newer locomotive runs form Athearn, Atlas or Walthers have Lead or Zinc Alloy weights inside?  I would like to remove some weight from a Proto 2000 RS27 to add a speaker buy don't really want to grind on a Lead block.  I am assuming that it is Zinc because there are no warnings on any newer packaging but never hurts to asks.

Thanks

Brad
