CP SW1200RS project
After many hours of work, I was able to contribute a pair of CP SW1200RS units to the Sudbury fleet of locomotives on the WRMRC. 8152 and 8159 proved themselves on the Espanola Turn at last Saturday's operating session.
The models were built from resin shells by Point 1, reworked frames and drives from P2K SW9s, Athearn flexicoil sideframes, NWSL wheels, and an assortment of detail parts.
TH&B 70 Ton Hopper
I've written a series of posts about a pair of 70 ton TH&B hoppers that I built by improving a couple of 20-year-old Stewart kits. Both cars are finished, and I've written a post with some pics of one of the cars.
Enjoy your visit!

SW1200RS & SWEEP projects
I've been building a pair of CP SW1200RS units. The bodies are painted, and I've embarked upon the work of converting the sideframes on a P2K switcher drive.
Painting Wheelset
I hate cleaning paint off of wheel treads after they're weathered. Instead of cleaning the paint off with a solvent, I tried masking them this time. Just curious, what's the easiest method you've come up with for making sure wheel treads are paint-free when the car is ready for the layout?

Express Reefer Trucks
Looking for some help with locating trucks to replace these gruesome looking things on my Erie caboose. Searching the web turned up no results, and while I love to support my LHS, they aren't much help when it comes to things like this.
I imagine that these are express reefer trucks. Wheel base is 6 feet. Wheels are 33".
CP ore cars update
It's been a while since I updated my progress on the ore car fleet I'm building. I've been documenting their construction on my blog. I just finished putting all of the underbody details on all of the cars. The Sylvan kit employs lots of wire and small resin parts that are combined to create the various components of the brake system. Here's a sample of what each car looks like belly-up. They're still not finished, but I'm getting close!
