Trackplan for the PPNL - Need some feedback
This is my first attempt at a track plan for my freelance Plainville, Pequabuck and New London Railroad. I am looking for some serious feedback regarding the plan. This an HO scale double-decked layout connected by a helix (upper right). The modeled area will represent the entire, fictional shortline with staging connections to represent "the rest of the world". I apologize for the green on the first rendition, just happened to be the color layer I was on at the time.
Jake's Abattoir, the saga continues
The new siding at Jake's is now up and ready to receive stock cars. It's a tad overgrown and the ballast is mostly dirt but it gets the job done. Work has now started on the unloading chutes and stock pens. I've been experimenting with sanded grout for ground cover (that's what the siding is covered in) and when I soak it down with water I don't want the corrals to go all catty-wampus so I'm building them all out of styrene. It's been fun weathering the heck out of them.
P&SF – Finding sounddecoders for my locos
I am considering putting Tsunami sounddecoders in some of my locos. Although I have some ideas, I need some help finding the right decoders and how to place decoders and speakers in the locos.
I am aware of some great sites for this, especially MRH’s own DCC columnist, but still want ideas. Do you read me, Bruce – and others?
MRH 120 Day Challenge - Post No. 02 - Basic Ground Work
It doesn't look like much progress; however there is a fair amount of work to get to this point. I installed pads for both the motel and cafe (using foam board), spackled the grades from the pads to the surrounding grade, created ditches by the road, and put a base coat of "dirt" junk paint over the entire area.
Is this an SD70ECS?
The Railway is Coming...................
I have been training a group of new Railway Police today in Abu Dhabi, in Integrated Emergency Management. The Etihad Railway is in existance, Etihad in Arabic means 'Union'.
My projects
This project has been on my mind for quite some time. About ten years ago my grandfather passed away and my father and I inherited his stable of german locos and cars in H0 scale. We enjoyed running them on the São Paulo Model Railway club (Sociedade Brasileira de Ferromodelismo), but since I went to University they sat on our shelves (and I dont mean Shelf Layout), until I got a job and decided to build a layout, but for that I bought a NCE powercab.
