Burlington Northern in Seattle. Post 3

Since my last post I have received all my uprights from the powder coaters and placed them in position.

All the Level 1 modules are in position and I managed to lay my first piece of track on Christmas day.

The photo below is of the bridge scene in front of the window.

Photo 2 shows the corner module with the level 2 corner module in its final position below.

German HO adventure

After dismantling the N scale Georgetown & Allen Mountain Railroad I have started to build my new HO railroad. I have modeled in HO scale before but it has been many years so I will have to learn many new things and step into many new traps.

As I'm a native of Germany I chose to build a German layout. I built such a layout before during a 3 year stay in Germany from 2005 to 2008 and therefore have a lot of German rolling stock, track and accessories. I hope everybody here finds it interesting enough to have a look.

Decisions, decisions

As those familiar with my modeling interests may recall, I've said that I know I will eventually move to HO scale as N will eventually be too much for my decreasing dexterity and vision.  While I think I still have several years left in me, I've been thinking that maybe an earlier switch might be more appropriate.  Like now.  Why?

On30 on HO layout

For those that know Bobber Gibbs of On30 Consperacy, he dropped by our Saturday meeting and I got out my On30 train to run on the upper loop of our 5'x10' club layout.

I got a new site   http://armchairmodelbuilders101.com   and it links to the old sites so drop by and say hi!

It Does Snow in Nebraska After All!!!!! 12-20-2012 Images in Lincoln

Story and Pictures are by Chris and another great idea to model a snow coach. Happy Holidays to all.

So I opened my mouth in my last e-mail about the lack of snow so far here in Nebraska; and, within 48-hours of hitting the send button, the first winter storm hit dropping 6-12 inches of snow across the region.

Athearn Crane with DCC

I've started my second Athearn wreck crane modification. This crane will be used in a display by NCE (North Coast Electronics). It will have a DCC decoder installed by a good friend of mine who is also sales rep for NCE.

I'm also going to put up this build on my web site after I get it all built. At this point I'm not sure how far I will take this build to since my friend Jim will be installing the decoder and may even detail the crane a bit and paint it. Who knows were this will go.

The build starts in the next post.

Bernd
