Along the Line at Clive

Progress continues at Clive, Iowa on my IAIS Grimes Line layout.

The finish scenery pass is complete, as well as most of the detail parts. I'm still waiting for some additional items, most notably the traffic lights for the NW 86th Street and Swanson Blvd intersection, but I'm about ready to call this project complete.

A-Track - Your DCC Buddy for NCE Systems – Start-Up Guide

A few queries, from new users who have downloaded and installed A-Track, revealed that my ‘Getting Started’ Tutorial and User Guide are not yet quite good enough – they might explain WHAT the A-Track application can do but, unfortunately, they don’t tell you HOW to start using the program. Hence this little guide (which will be incorporated in the next update to A-Track).

SNE Back Up - Missing Photos

It appears that some of you couldn't see the photos in my last post. I am trying to keep both my own Blogger blog and this one in Synch but my iPad doesn't like telling me where my Blogger photos are. Hence, I uploaded them here but I don't seem to be able to make the uploaded pictures appear in the run of the text. They only seem to appear as attachment.

Anyway, I have fired up my trusty (??) Windows laptop and here they are.

Narrow Gauge Fun: HOn3 4-6-0

So I was doing some cleaning and organizing and rearranging tonight and then I cracked open this box I have - I have too many boxes like this!! - but anyhow...I found my rail bender, for one!!

This box contained the spoils from a good night on the high Ebay seas: an HOn3 chassis and cab from the Train and Trooper ET&WNC 4-6-0.  Now it didn't come with a boiler, which is a pity, but then again, if it had a boiler I would not have this box in my hands - Ebay would have pushed the price much higher than what I paid for it!

In the news

Our local paper ran a two-part article about my diorama.  This is the Twin Mills from Sierra West that I completed in late summer:

Power Desk

It's about time I start blogging about my railroad modeling interests. I have the tendency to get started doing something (model railroading for instance) then after a few months, other things seem to draw me away for a while. So I may blog a few times a week, then go months without anything!

However, the nice thing for me is I just got involved with a very active model railroad group just a few miles away, and I'm sure I can draw some writing inspirations from this group.
