Blast -Just when I thought I had finished spending!
Yesterday, my N Scale Bachmann RS3 ran away. The only way I could stop it was to turn the power off to the track. Fortunately my Digitrax Zephyr has a button for that. Unfortunately, when I turned the power on, the loco was dead. Now I have two feelings about this. One is that, having told the wife that I didn't need anything else for the railroad, I now have to admit to needing a new decoder. The second is pleasure that I am replacing the decoder as the built in Bachman decoder is quite limited and the loco never ran very well.
Bummer, or not ...
just received a drill set via the mail, and thought I missed a bit. That was until I made a photo of the set:
Guess it's time to get a new pair of reading glasses !
cheers, Leo
What to fill in upper dsck with
what to put at end of line on a multi deck layout going point to point? have a 10" shelf ,16" above main layout. KW
WOW!
What a great deal. I haven't found anything for FREE for a long long time!
I am totally new to modeling anything and have not gotten around to buying any rolling stock. I will more than likely make a small diorama to see how I do.
I am one late bloomer (78) and inexperienced.
A Change of Pace, or...
Or... What happens when a Narrow Gauger gets bit by the... um... "standard gauge" bug?
Is that right? I'm not sure. Whatever it is, I've been tinkering with Narrow Gauge for over 12 years now, first in Sn3, then in On30, through three moves, a wedding, and five different layout attempts.
Backup your files
Started up the laptop tonight and it is making a terrible racket. This laptop has 100 gigs of photo files and almost as much in videos. Perhaps most of the files have already been backed up but I'm not sure. I have another external HD with 75 gigs free. Just went through and deleted 25 gigs of unnecessary files so I have enough room to backup the recent old west photos. Still worried about the video files. It might not be a big deal as I think its the cooling fan,
Anyway, If you haven't backed up your files, No time like the present!

THIS is what Layout Tours Should look like!!!
So I was running around the Internets this morning, and I stumbled across this...
I Found Ray Bradbury
I went into one of the local model shops yesterday to find an S or O scale figure to use as a statue on my N Scale Green Town Railway. There is a triangular space where Glen Rock runs between Washington and Park which I knew would be a small grassed area and I thought a statue would be a fitting focal point there.
