Two films made during the last operating session

Hello,

at the last weekend I held an operating session. First a film which shows our trials with the British Railways Bell Codes for communication between the stations.

The second film was made at the end of the session and shows some trains running on the Garve and Ullapool Railway.

Modular Operations/Tearing it all apart

After the setup in Chehalis, I decided to tear apart my Columbia Coldstor module and completely rebuild it from scratch.  If you are interested in seeing the problems and why I wanted to start over, you can watch my YouTube video.

North Conway benchwork plus staging video

Thanks to input on the topic I posted around what to do next, I decided today to build the next section of the benchwork - for the North Conway area.  Below is the trackplan again for the main level but with the benchwork plan shown to put the photos in context.

San Lorenzo, Arizona

I recently built a 1/48 diorama of a little Sonoran village, San Lorenzo, Arizona. The diorama was entered in the model contest at the 33rd annual Narrow Gauge Convention in Pasadena, California last August. It was awarded the Gazette Award by the editor of the Narrow Gauge and Short LIne Gazette.

Recently, I photographed the diorama out in the desert for the upcoming magazine article for the Gazette, and enjoyed seeing how the natural light really enhanced the models. Here are a few unpublished photos:

My first attempt at weathering rolling stock...

Well yesterday and today I finally bit the bullet and tried my hand at weathering a piece of rolling stock.  I'd been putting this off for some time as I was unsure if I was going to be able to achieve the standard I wanted.

My idea is to be able to get one piece done in a hour or two (and down under an hour with practice), I also want a weathered look that is in line with the "good enough principle".
