The White Lion Railways, our first trains

(The day a wild animal became the leader of a railway, from left to right, Otto, Greenstar, and Driver) The day is July 13th, 2017, and there is a meeting going down on Northfolk and Southern railroad territory.  It is between NS CEO, Mr. Monte, and the white lion, Greenstar, along with his two personal employees, Driver(real name, Kevin, prefers to go by Driver), and and his guard, Otto.

“Dream Layout”

An introduction:

So some years ago I had a chance to build a new house with my Parants.  I am a bachelor and they were elderly at the time (last 60s early 70s).

So we build a largish house of about 2000sf and because they were elderly we built a ranch.  It is a pure coincidence that this gave us a basement of about 32’x68’ inside dimensions.

My father models logging railroads in general and settled on the Mower Lumber Co in Cass WV.  (Home to the prototype of the Bachmann Shay)

The White Lion Railways, who we are

Hello

my name is Greenstar, and I have quite a journey to take you all on

Relco MOW in HO scale

If you remember. I ran across that string of tie cars last February and posted the picture on my blog. After a few conversations with Brett Isaccs who developed the N Scale models I found that these models were developed from pictures and decided to do the same in HO. For those of you that don't get Running Extra, these cars are part of a complete train that picks up old ties while the train is moving The locomotive is a rebuilt SD40-2 done by Relco here in Iowa.

The Secret is in the details. Prototype Bingham Canyon mine.

Details is one of the funniest things to do.

A-Track – Transfer to new server forces update

Following the disruption to my website caused by the service provider transferring it to a new server, it has been necessary to update A-Track to handle the new server file access rules. Any MRH reader who is running a previous version is recommended to download this update. As always, all of your current settings and files will be preserved when you install the update.

Down the 3D CAD rabbit hole we go

I've been hemming and hawing about starting to do my own 3D prints for locomotive and freight car details.  The latest generation of resin printers has really tested my will power.  Seeing what my friends Dave B. and Mike M. have been able to accomplish with their printers got me to give 3D modelling a try.  Mike has offered to let me print on his machine so down the rabbit hole I go.
