Did you get your M420

One of the most anticipated release of a locomotive for me was the RAPIDO M420 as delivered to CN. I don’t think I ever saw a 2500 series only 3500s when the got sold of by CN and started showing up on short lines. I don’t model CN and wasn’t going to wait and see if the 3500s get released. So I bought one to run on the layout. I had built a resin kit quite a number of years ago as HBRY 3548 and it still runs well.  Maybe time to put them in a consist. Thumbs up to RAPIDO .

Bingham and Garfield Railroad, Ghost Rail.

Once declared “one of the most marvelous little roads in the World.” This was high mountain railroading nothing like it in the world.

Yess! They arrived...

the PCBA's I ordered as inspired by Geoff Bunza's IDEC concept. Like I wrote in my previous entry: a bit wider, a bit shorter but with an Arduino Pro Mini on board. And of course a DCC input with optical isolation.

As you can see in the files attached I added a second part to the design with some resistors and holes. This is for easily connecting Led's or switches.

Next is getting some connectors on them and testing. I'll write about that later.

Update

 Hello thanks for suggestions everyone!
first off I was able to use a old dresser for my shelf to run models (Hence the picture of IAIS 300 the GP9 from Athgen)

I need to made it a little longer with some plywood but otherwise it looks nice

I was also going to use the drawers for storing models and they can lock so my brother problem would solved

3D printed Shay, parts, parts, and more parts

the printer has been running around the clock for the last three days.  By the end of the week I should have all parts printed and the final assembly and detailing can start.  This week I will be printing the cab / tender after I finish up the digital details.  it's pretty exciting to see it all materialize.

Intentionally creating conflicting train movements for operators during operation

Intentionally creating conflicting train movements for operators during operation.

It was pointed out my layout is not set up logically,   Why is the Top most part of the layout mostly run out of Old Pueblo Yard on the lower section of the layout?  Why do you run most of the upper part of your layout from the yard on the bottom level of the layout?

Your Layout is point to point, would it not be better to run all the upper area as one section and the lower area as another section?

Sequoia sand house and tower model#4012

I bought the Sequoia kit, sand house and tower #4012, 20 years ago, I am finally getting to build it. When I opened the box all the parts were there but the the building paperwork wasn't. Does anyone know where I could find this paperwork, instructions and templates? or does someone have these and can e-mail them to me, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Building Merrill's Point, A Backwoods Lake Harbor (Pacific Northwest CP inspired Carfloat Module)

I had mentioned on a regular post that I had finally gotten a large 75 gallon aquarium out of the office/shop here and the amount of space it opened up. Of course, being a Model Rail, my mind immediately turned to what I could be doing with that space layout wise. I fought those thoughts kicking and screaming because I have enough to do with the amount of pike I already have but here I am at the same place I somehow knew I was going to end up.
