Material Load Ideas: Harvesting Logs

Modeling logs is about as common of a subject as rocks or grass or trees.

UP Special Movement Arrives at Wyocena

While waiting O material to finish my brewery I though I would try something new. I have never used my 3D printer to produce a railcar. Back in the 80s I worked in Texas at a nuclear power plant that was under construction and WECX 101 brought in the transformer. I got a bunch of pictures and a photocopy of the operators manual.

News from my Modelrailway room February 2021

Hello,

I've made an update video about my  modelrailway activity during the last month, mostly about my 009 layout, and a little bit about my N gauge layout.

Working out the Lighting and Interior Details

I figured out how to do the lighting, for someone who knows nothing about this, thats quite an accomplishment. I also build some industrial shelves then raid ebay and the surplus parts for interior details.

Commission done

This is for a O scale operator,  I was commission to help produce Precast Concrete Pipes for a gondola load for his operating layout.

You can also see the Precast Concrete Pipes in both HO and N,  For fun I did a mock up of his idea (He will be suing real wood) and printed it out in N scale,  makes a rather nice load and gives me an idea of what it will look like in O scale. He just needs to light sand and paint the O scale ones do to the vector lines showing up in such a larger scale.  But one model 4 scales.

Some smaller 3D printed projects

One of the items I'm finding is if I don't design constantly with Fusion 360, I start to forget the odd "foundation" items, and have to spend time relearning stuff.  I don't like doing that, so I've decided that I have to keep something "on the burner" when it comes to 3D design and printing.
