Sketch of piping layout, 2-8-0
The first step is making a sketch of the desired piping. The drawing below is not to scale, it simply shows the routing of the new piping. Existing pipes are not shown. I will not measure the wire exactly. Instead, I will lay it in and bend where appropriate.

Benchwork Start
Now that all the visitors and Christmas cookies are gone, I finally got started on the new benchwork/layout re-construction of the left side of the railroad. Having saved most all the track, switches, buildings and lumber from the previous layout, my investment so far has been eight 2x2's and a box of Tapcon Phillips head screws.
Photos of the progress in the next post.
Alternatives To caboose Industries Ground Throws?

Detailing a Roundhouse PRR 2-8-0
The old cast zinc Roundhouse 2-8-0 runs great, but it really suffers from lack of interesting detail.
Eugene Staging Begins
Merry Christmas! After a busy fall significant progress on the railroad could actually begin. Because of the design of the railroad, the staging yards will be built completely (benchwork, track, wiring, etc.) before connecting them with the other decks.
ACE-G1-4000 Turbine
I call this an ACE-G1-4000 Coal Turbine. The locomotive body was built from 2 AHM Krauss-Maffei locomotives with added details parts. The frame was built from brass tubing and a Penn Line GG1 locomotive parts. The tender was built from a Bachmann Shark nose B unit with a scratch built frame from brass parts. This started out as a ebay find that I had to completely rebuild, but it was a interesting project.
Layout area suggestions
Have you ever come to a section on the layout you want to work on but don't know what to do with it? I been looking at this section in the pictures for over a year now and still don't know what to do with it. Anyone have suggestion? Different bridges, different pillars?
The Prototype P & DC RR - The Corporate Entity
The Philadelphia and Delaware County Railroad (P&DC) was formed on April 25, 1890. It took over the franchises and property rights of the Philadelphia Midland Railroad, an incomplete and non-operational line intended to traverse northern Delaware County from Fernwood to Newtown Square. The P&DC completed construction of the main line and began operation on June 30, 1894. In 1899, it built a branch from Wycombe to Millbourne Mills with freight interchange with the Philadelphia and Western Railroad (P&W).
