Portuguese model trains!
Hi all.
Yesterday, I wen't to a friend's place, for some talk and coffe.
He is a great modeler on building rolling stock.
So, we left the wives and the children back on his living room and went to his train room, so that he could show me what he is up to.

Looking for....
Just a note to say that I am always looking for photos from the PC era on the West Virginia Secondary that I may use (with credit of course) on my website. Thanks in advance!
Scratchbuilt Coon Gap Sawmill in On30
Finally got some work done on my project. Trestle finished and scored on a good deal for DCC ready Climax that I have to weather the heck out of! All weathering on building accomplished with chalks.

I am now a small layout owner (and got a lot done in about 5 hours)
So here we have it, my first layout it is in N and not the expected HO scale but still worth all the effort. It really has to do with my brother who I passed my N scale trains onto in a way allowing him to get a layout I always dreamed about at an earlier age. Here I am about 1/3 of the way done in basic scenery and am using cardboard base to protect the table, the table itself has a great history being my first "train table" for my wooden trains (see below picture)

Seaboard Central - Railfanning Photo
Way back in 1986 before the Internet and cell phones I was a 16 year old teenager who spent a lot of time chasing trains in my hometown of Cartersville, GA. My first vehicle was a 1971 Chevy truck that was customized with a big block engine and nice chrome wheels. In 1987 Buick came out with the GNX Grand National and it became my official dream car. Of course I could never afford one and settled on a black 87 Buick Regal Ltd but to me it was an awesome car. I only had both vehicles for a short period but they will always hold a fondness for being my favorites.

Running Trains
I have been running some trains and I picked these two to show to everyone. The first video shows a Troop Train led by a Broadway Limited E6A/B with a consist of 15 Micro-Trains Pullman Troop Cars plus an old AHM heavyweight observation car. I purchased the troop cars back when they were originally released by Micro-Trains some 10+ years ago and this is their first time running in a train. There are some duplicate numbers but it is N-Scale and unless you really look closely, they are very hard to read. The train consist is planned to run as an extra from time to time
TWRR Phase 2
It's been a while since my last update. In the last few months I finished laying the tracks on the top level and I embarked on another big step: rebuilding.
The present iteration of the layout is "my old layout rebuilt using modules", full story here http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/21730.

A friend helping me out with the ballasting. His method was so quick and nice I just had to make a tutorial.
Hi!
This passed week I got help to ballast most of my lines. My friend had such a nice and quick method, which ended up with a really realistic and nice look. I just had to make a video helping me to remember the routine for next time. Maybe it can also be of help to others, like it did for me.

Looking at Things From a Different Angle
