Big News for a Small Layout !! Pics, Pics, and Pics !!
Well I finally splurged on that new camera (well, sorta new!), and some new additions to the roster!
I found this camera at the local thrift store and for US$30 plus a dollar store pack of AA batteries to see if it still works, I became the proud new owner of a Canon S5 IS. Now, my pictures might not be junk anymore, but my photography skills still need improvement.

How to Model Water Videos on YouTube
Hi All
I've been posting a series of videos on how to model water, from puddles to rivers and lakes. The ocean is still to come. I've also been looking at how to model water plants too.
I've over 60 videos already with a new one coming out each week.
Do check out my YouTube channel and blog:

Here's a few of my videos:
Fun with Arduinos
Since I met a guy who works at Dell, who told me about such things as Raspberry Pi's and Arduino's, I've been learning and planning some fun projects for Arduinos on my layout. I'm beginning in my city (Philly) area and will try to implement some of the following ideas:
Signaling
Traffic Lights
Building Lighting
Highway Flashers
Later I might get into areas that other MR's are involved in such as
DCC control of trains and controlling switch machines

Statfold Barn Open Day - Narrow Gauge Heaven
A couple of weeks ago I went to the Statfold Barn Open Day. It has an awesome amount of narrow gauge steam locos running.

Spectrum 4-8-2 Heavy Mtn locos - Adventures in wiring, DCC/Sound
I just fixed the photo links on this blog. The GW loco wiring is really crazy so this thread is an important reference for anyone that wants to upgrade one to DCC.
I haven't worked much on the layout or the mine kit since retiring from the job a few weeks ago. Spring cleaning, family and honey-do's have had most of my attention. But I did make some interesting purchases.

Weather of a different kind
Looks like a nasty storm coming in from the west...

BMJK Layout video 2016
Hi!
I had the opportunity to visit Borlange MJ club in Sweden last weekend.
A very nice layout with equally nice members made the video recording great fun.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Repurposed Roundhouse Kit Box
So, I felt the need (and was also bored) to build a container for my/my clubs NCE Powercab. I also got the repaired TCS decoder so i was able to wire it up to a pair of earbuds. (Now i just need to find a female port for it). The controller is also wired in with a track output and the USB interface. After introducing it here are the photos (with the top on and off)

What do you do on a Rainy Thursday?
Well if you are home with a sick 5 year old, you try a new scenery technique!
Over the last several months I've been following and watching Luke Towan's Boulder Creek Railroad vidoes on YouTube. He recently did one on HO hay bales and since I need some hay bales for my N scale layout, I decided to see how they scaled out. I gathered my materials, poured some coffee, and ran the video again to make sure I knew what I was doing.
