HO Scale Lehigh & New England Wrecker Derrick
Looking to find a LNE Wrecker Derrick HO scale. I have a friend retiring soon and want to give as a retirement gift. Three generations of railroaders .. Grandfather derrick operator, father locomotive engineer and my friend in the rail tank car business. I have the latter two secured. Please any help would be appreciated.
Utility Poles for the LTTX flatcar
I just received my shipment of "utility poles" for my LTTX flatcars and they are looking great.
These are custom made to exactly represent 85' and 65' utility poles. They are perfectly tapered and the correct diameter.

Another Scratchbuild...On30 Engine House - Walls Going Up
This blog will chronicle the build process from the ground up. Any and all feedback, advice, criticism, etc. is welcomed. This is the first scratch-build that I am attempting, so here goes nothin'!

Aerial Railfanning
So, I'm playing around with Google Photos.... and I found that Google has a lot more of my photos than I realized. Which is creepy, but ultimately a good thing.
Back in 2003/04 (Google says Sept 2003, but... I know better) my father-in-law and I went aerial railfanning. At the time he owned a Cessna 172, which is a nice little bird for stooging around the sky at low altitude and low speed in.

Photo hosting
So, while going back through all those posts from 2008, I have realized that I had referenced my photo galleries on my personal web server a lot back then.
I've still got the photos, but the server is long crashed and gone. And frankly, I'm not that enthusiastic about hosting the now unsupported Gallery software again, as it's not the first time I've had a server die from out under me.
So, what photo hosting solutions does everyone else use or suggest?
I do have a couple of requirements:
The first bit of Scenery on the G&D Sorethroat Branch
Yesterday I started with the first bit of scenery on my G&D Sorethroat Branch.
I filled the area with some cardboard and then applied some earth and Woodland Scenic blended Turf.
The figures and the car are only temporary in place.
Topside Creeper
A double level layout allows fitting a lot of stuff in a limited space, but accessing and working on it might not be so easy.
I looked many times at the topside creeper on Micromark's catalog, but it's quite expensive and shipping 40Kg of steel from the US to Europe would cost as much. By the way I got in touch with the chinese firm that actually makes it, and they offered it at $80.00 each, minimum order of 10.
So I decided to build one myself, using an aluminum ladder and wood. This is the result.
