Controlling DCC accessory decoders via LocoNet
Hi,
I am currently working on a LocoNet controller for stationary DCC decoders. This controller will allow me to throw turnouts on my layout with a fairly small but dedicated controller, instead of using my Zephyr for loco and TO control, or having to run a PC program to do that. Or trying to cram dozens of toggle switches on a layout panel.
The controller connects to the Zephyr via LocoNet, and the TO signals will be received by the Zephyr which in turn will send a DCC signal to the DCC decoders.

Portuguese modeling! Photos of portuguese models and layouts
Hi all.
While Tim Moran is helping me bringing my layout to life, I thought on sharing some of the Portuguese modeling we have on this side of the pond.
Drawing inspriation for the Lyndonville Sub
Whether it be something we saw in childhood, the pages of Model Railroader, the blogs on Railroad Model Hobbyist, or some other source, we see something, and we say, "Oh, that's something I'd like to see on my layout!" For me, one such scene is one I saw on Mike Confalone's Allagash Railway:
IAIS Grimes Line: A Five Year Mission
This past weekend marked the five-year anniversary of construction beginning on my Iowa Interstate Grimes Industrial Track layout. Over those five years I’ve been fortunate to be able to share my progress in modeling the Grimes Line. Five years later, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.

Colorado Front Range Railroad update May June 2016
Well the fist 24 feet of the backdrop is painted. It only took 8 tries and a clinic from Paul Rising and watching a few hours of You Tube videos on painting techniques but it is done. This months video was going to be a long one so I broke it down into two parts. The first part is just on paining the backdrop. The second part is on an update for the railroad and showing the new logo.
Here are both videos hope you enjoy!

Horseshoe & Cottonwood Update #8
Productive weekend on the H&C with the town of Carroll Creek mostly in place:
The town of Carroll Creek is basically on a canyon ledge above the creek. I left room for a little depot and some cabins, perhaps even a few on stilts in the front?
Goose Island Update, Sunday, May 29
The canal has now been cut in. The major street is outlined so I know where it's going. The canal will be 11' below the bridge deck which should look okay. In looking through various catalogs I cannot find a type of bridge that is similar to the one that crossed the canal onto Goose Island. May have to scratch build that bad boy.
There's a hole in the benchwork......
The final 18" segment of mainline track awaits the construction of a bridge and river on the bench work. This will complete about 400' of mainline in two rooms, and a chance to run trains all the way around the second level.
Despite having to take a few days off next week to move one of the kids into an apartment up in VT, I hope to post the progress of this area as it progresses, which I hope will be rapidly.
