A guest at an Ops Session

About a month or so ago I was invited to join an operating session at a home in my new hometown.  I was excited to have an opportunity to operate on another Modeler's layout as most of my experience seeing other Modelers works in-person has been through small, modular displays at various train shows.

New Laser and Organizing your layout room-------What? This months video even has a Sear and Roebuck scratch build house.

Hope you enjoy

Mike

Mainline to the front or rear of the layout.

I'm contemplating this track arrangement the past few days. At present the single track main is to the front of the layout as it heads through Hillwood.

The yard has been somewhat simplified with only a single run around and 2 yard tracks and the industry track at the rear how ever the original is shown below.

Shelf layout & other projects update

Howdy,

Been quite a while since an update but we have been busy on a bunch of projects:

  1. basic layout scenery
  2. installing backdrop
  3. scratchbuilding structures
  4. weathering cars

Heres how the layout looks now (best I could do for an overview):

IAIS Grimes Line: Epilogue

A final update from the Grimes Line.

Two and a half months after our issues began, we again have a fully functional basement. What was intended to be just a sewer line replacement turned into a complete makeover, including wall stabilization, waterproofing, and crawl space cleanup. The result is a much cleaner, drier, and safer space than we had before and will serve us well, regardless of what we decide to do moving forward.

Gear Fix - 3D Print, Resin Cast Or ?

A friend of mine that fixes and sells "previously enjoyed" models asked me if I knew where he could get a replacement gear like shown in the picture, preferably with all the teeth. I told him I'd give a go and see what I could find. This gear drove some kind of model toy engine.

Looking for the collective minds on MRH for an answer. So, anybody have any ideas?

Bernd

Trainz 2009 FREE when you sign up for the email newsletter.

I’m not linked to these guys in any way but got the email saying you can get the game for free! Their email newsletters are actually pretty interesting and even though the game is sorta old it is still a good one.
