Omaha Trip

I just wanted to say a great big thank you to Joe Atkinson and Dave Husman, both of whom are members of this forum for taking  the time to pick me up at my Omaha hotel, and drive me around to see their layouts and other local sights. Dave also took me to see the huge Surf Line layout of Steve's that is under construction. Thank you to Dave, Joe, and Steve, and their families for being gracious hosts.

Eastern California V2.0 Update #6

Progress on version 2.0 of our Eastern California layout has continued and we are now on to the second phase, or the middle portion of the run from San Diego to Seattle.  Geographically this is northern California and southern Oregon.   I was particularly excited to get to the Feather River portion which includes a compressed Keddie Wye:

Walthers Brickworks

Did anyone else notice that the "New" brickworks factory is really just Northern Light and Power with a different stock number?

I hate to be this snarky, but I think Walthers needs to step up their drug testing program.

And the Helix rises from the ground...

So today I managed to get the first full ring of the helix completed. It’s now in place and again I have checked it’s location relative to the fascia edge, and checked it’s position & alignment with the existing entry point & new exit point to staging.

Working on the DFC&T Engine House

After 2 months of the front wall sitting around, I finally decided to start work on the engine house for the narrow gauge. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos of the other walls being constructed.

Building the first SL2 module

I've started building the first Siskiyou Line 2 module section. Given this is the first one, it's something of a prototype and I'm making some mistakes with it. But overall, it's coming out pretty much as expected (and hoped).

"1952" Photo of Narrow Gauge

I haven't posted for awhile. So I decided to share this modified image I made from my smartphone.

(The reason for not posting was because of taking a short break from model railroading)
