BQ23-7 by Bachman

So in my never ending quest to own as many Locomotives as possible with the L&N , SCL, Family Lines logo.

i came across this in an antique store for sale along with two other L&N Locos, ..

from what i have discovered these were a rare site only 10 were ever built  and were all for the Sea Board RR.

So i have one Bachman BQ23-7 Locomotive in its original box, is this something i should hang onto, or rebuild it with a better motor and frame? and put it on my layout?

Plan for Intermodal Yard -Trenton Subdivision in N Scale

After a few days of "trial and error" I have decided on a final design for the Intermodal Yard on my layout, The Trenton Subdivision in N scale.

I decided to keep to the basics to create a modest intermodal area capable of both container and trailer operations without taking over the entire layout. I used AnyRail 6 to design the schematic.

trying again Layout tour

I have finally done it. Thanks to all those who have had the patience to help a slow learner.

My layout the Kanunda & Emu Flat railway is a early1980s Australian layout running Australian National and V/Line which ran through between Adelaide and Melbourne at that time.

Cement Plant and mainline

I like building sprawling complexes and using structures that dwarf the trains and really seem to provide the railroad a reason to exist.  I have my last eight feet on one level that needs to be filled. One of my concerns is taking up too much real estate with large footprint buildings that do nothing but "sit there".

Cascade Sub: Up the Hill (Trackwork)

Here is the first video of the Cascade Subdivision! I put together a timelapse of laying track on the upper deck of my railroad which I have only documented with pictures and text previously. I hope this is a nice supplement to the text and pictures explaining at greater depth the progress made over the past week. Enjoy!

End of 2019

Its been a slow year on the Ft Worth Sub, but progress has been made. After a lot of work and a lot of help from many people I finally have my Staging Yard Control, up and working.

When a operator is ready to take a ride onto the layout he hits the track button for his train and it will turn track power on and train will proceed per a JMRI route onto the layout.

Some notes on the Cricut Maker cutting machine

Approximately a year ago I managed to obtain a Circut Maker crafting machine at a really good price. I made several posts about it over in the "Modeling with the Circut Explore" facebook group. I have decided to repost those here at MRH since that is a closed group and more modelers will have access to the information on the MRH site.
