well i got bored .... let mme back up a bit

i had to have knee surgery and have been reoup'n over the last week and lucky to say i have been able to hobble into my Layout room and once again start working ... well kinda 

i have always wanted to try my luck at hand laying track . well i dove in feet first.. (metaphorically speaking... just had knee surgery remember).. I did not have any actual cross ties , spikes, or rail... or did i??

Hello to all been forever and a day since i have done a blog update here. been real busy ...

I am looking for any maps of the Monon / L&N .CSX  Mcdoel Yard,  that use to be located in Bloomington Ind

it was completely dismantled and gone by 2007 . i have found some pictures but cannot get a good view ,  and a very old  arial pic partially showing the south side . anyone out there got any ideas ?? 

I was rummaging through some pictures of my past layouts to see if there were any scenes i wanted to recreate.. andf figured i would share them , with the blog site.. some re not quite finished .. 

Kids... must be the chief of police's kid.... who else would  have the B---'s to graffetti the side of the police station...

So in my never ending quest to own as many Locomotives as possible with the L&N , SCL, Family Lines logo.

i came across this in an antique store for sale along with two other L&N Locos, .. 

from what i have discovered these were a rare site only 10 were ever built  and were all for the Sea Board RR.

So i have one Bachman BQ23-7 Locomotive in its original box, is this something i should hang onto, or rebuild it with a better motor and frame? and put it on my layout? 

Here is a little update on my Layout , i have named the Louisville & Northern , Based on a branch division somewhere in Central /southern Indiana and Northern KY area. 

here is a few pics of the viaduct  as it is right now, i used Aluminum Square tube  and flat bar, next step is to add the details to give it the Iron plate style appearance hopefully i will have a few viaduct towers to add underneath, before painting 

it also is a left hinged  lift up for  when i dont feel like ducking under

hello y'all

i need help developing a  Drawbridge style lift up swing gate??? any suggestions 

or websites that would have detailed drawings , thanks  ...Robin

Well Happy Belated Halloween, Been busy lately, but here is an update on bringing my Layout to life from Paper to actual layout.. check out the pics below

its been awhile since iv'e blogged, last was about rebuilding locomotives with LED upgrades. and motors

well my layout design is coming together, pictured below is a rough draft of the mainline with a yard on one side please excuse the extra pcs of track in the middle  this is a wall mounted shelf type. grid is 12"x 12"  room size is 11 x 10. .. the black border line is the outside edge of lay out . Please feel free to comment or advise.

i think i need a new motor for this old AHM Atlas ,by itself the motor runs, hook it up to the gear trucks it doesnt go, cleaned the gear cogs in the gear boxes, and cleaned the wheels  still a no-go. the motor is humming, and wanting to turn but doesnt..

any suggestions???
