Modeling general discussion

More than a million views of my Richlawn Railroad website
I've reached a milepost in that I've had more than 1,000,000 hits to my Richlawn Railroad website. I generally post to MRH first and then to my website so much of the material on my site can be found here; however, there is some material that I've never posted here. Thanks to all of you that have visited the site. You can view the site HERE.

Camera stacking software
Does anyone know of a digital camera that incorporates stacking software in the electronics of the camera? It seems to me this would become a progression of camera technology.

Any John Deere fans out there?
I'm looking for an HO scale John Deere 2020 in HO scale and can't seem to find anything but wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything (like a a model offering that never had a model number on it but it was a 2020).
Secondarily, an HO scale John Deere from the same late 60s/early 70s time period would be helpful.
Tractors are out of my know-zone. So many catalogs and manufacturers don't put years on their construction, tractor and truck offerings. It's nice to see them put that info on cars and loco offerings now.
Do you use 3D printing ?
Hi guys,
Do you use 3D printing for your models and diorama ?
I have a really good friend, Arin Panait, who's doing it with success.
I really like his work, and I've attached some photos below. Most of his builds are in O scale (1:43)

An Invitation to Some Fun Clinics on Animation and Protoypes Cranes
I would like to extend a personal invitation to all interested modelers to my 4 presentations/clinics at the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) Convention being held in Portland, Oregon on Tues Aug 25 and repeated Thursday Aug 27 ( http://nmra2015.sbcrailway.ca/node/3232) on Scale Model Animation and prototype railroad cranes.

Sound: Yes or No?
I can't seem to get my arms around this whole "sound" thing. I don't have any sound equipped locos, but every time I go to a train show, I pay particular attention to layouts that are running sound equipped locomotives.
I have to be honest - I'm not impressed.

FOUND!
A few weeks ago I started looking for my Kadee coupler height guages. I've been puttering away on some structures but did a locomotive up and wanted to check the coupler height. I searched all the usual places where I THOUGHT I had stored them. I knew I had several. My father had one that is probably older than I am and when a friend in the hobby passed away I thought I remembered he had given me 2. For the life of me I couldn't find them.

A simple (but necessary) addition to the Richlawn RR train room
OK - enough it enough! I finally had it trying to work in the little 6ft by 8ft open area in my 10ft by 12ft train room and purchased a plastic 5 level shelf from the big orange box store for $29.00. Yes, it looks out of place but I'm sick and tired of trying to access my stuff from 100 different locations and play hide and seek with materials! I've got a number of plastic shoe box style containers that I will label and put on the shelf.
Soo Line Latta Subdivision
I model the Latta Subdivision of the Soo Line in southern Indiana in the early 1990s. Seriously, the Soo Line served southern Indiana? Yes, it actually did after it took over the Milwaukee. During that time it had about a train a day of bridge traffic to the Norfolk Southern in Louisville, but its bread and butter was hauling coal from multiple loadouts up and down the line. The Latta sub was isolated from the rest of the Soo Line since it used the ex C&EI from Terre Haute to Chicago and the ex Monon from Bedford to Louisville.

Model railroading in small spaces.
Many folks often say that they do not have enough space for a layout.
Contrary to popular belief, you can have a lot of railroading in a small space if you
think creatively, plan accordingly and use you imagination.
I thought some might enjoy a look at how we took advantage of our space considerations and created
the original Spruce Coal & Timber Mini Layout. This was a great learning experience while working within the
confines of 7 square feet to create scenes that lent to the flavor of the area we wanted to model.
