Yard Lights?
How well I remember "yard lights" as a kid in Kansas City. Basically, a "yard light" was a tower with a bank of spot lights pointing both directions. The "yard lights" were placed throughout the yard at appropriate intervals. All the significant yards had them: Frisco, Santa Fe, UP, Rock Island, Wabash, CB&Q, KCS/MILW, et al.
Question: Has a mfg'er created a set of yard lights during my 15-17 year absence from HO?
Thanks for any input.

Paperboard plant in Ukiah, CA
Hi all,
I'm looking for pictures & information of the paperboard plant in Ukiah, CA. from 1990-2002. I will however take what I can get (beggars & choosers). Specifically, did the plant have a rotary dumper, and what would be delivered by rail?
Thanks,

Helicon Focus
I'm really interested in purchasing Helicon Focus with the Remote option. Seems I can't use the Remote with my Canon T4i and my Ipad as the Canon doesn't support a wireless connection so I now look at the specs on my other computers and they are too old/slow to be compatible with the helicon software so now it looks like I have to buy a computer to run this thing with a USB cable.......my question is do any of you guys run Helicon? If so, what computer are you running it with.

Code 10 rail?
Code 10 rail?
Took this the other day, obliviously the car is not going anywhere soon. My guess is that it is being used for storage.

Lightweight ceiling layouts
I've installed two ceiling storage lifts to raise two 4x8 layout tables in my two car garage, this way both our cars and layout can share the same space. My question is about options for building lightweight layouts. I'm looking for input for making both the benchwork and the scenery reasonably lightweight, and strong enough to lift.

My latest visit to the Georgetown & Allen Mountain RR.
Well folks, I got to do one of my favorite things - and that is, visiting Michael Rose and seeing his awesome Georgetown & Allen Mountain Railroad. I didn't take many pictures as you've seen the latest progress on Michael's thread here on MRH.
West Allen Street. HO scale switching layout on a budget.
WEST ALLEN STREET (ATSF)
West Allen Street is a minimum space HO scale micro layout, built to see if an operationally interesting model railroad can be built on a small budget.
The layout is based on a small, urban freight spur somewhere in the United States. The idea of big things in small spaces is the key theme, with vertical space being used as well as the square footage on the ground.
Soo Line Tech & Hist Society convention
The Soo Line Historical & Technical Society's up coming convention is right in my back yard in Hudson WI. The weekend of September 19th I'm looking forward to giving my "era specific" diesel modeling clinic.
Train Depot
While in Indiana I came across this re-purposed train depot. It is the center piece for a park in Upland, Indiana.
