Modeling general discussion
Thanks to MRH and Joe
Thanks to Joe and other forum members. I am modeling the station at White River Junction VT. Here is a bad photo. I am posting to thank Joe and other forum posters for the ideas you have given me. Joe posted about using silver solder -- all twelve lights are silver soldered. Another person posted about resistor arrays -- since I need 12 1K resistors the arrays neaten things up a lot. Many fellow cricut users helped.

Return loop: How to hide them accurately if they stay open
RERTURN LOOP,
Many layouts use them, they are designed to return train or staging yard.
But when it comes to include them in a layout design, here come some troubles.
A return loop "eat" a lot of surface if you use generous radius.
I have to design one for my layout in N scale for a double mainline; the inner radius is 3' and the outside radius is 3' and 2"
First a train is doubling him or run parallel in the same space.

Union Terminal Imports ceases operation
On their website, UTI announces the end of the import business as of June 1 2020: https://union-terminal-imports.com/
The Illinois Central trains, extra cars and Pullman 10-6 sleepers are said to be the last models to be imported. They are cancelling all in progress and future projects. That will also hit Boo-Rim hard, UTI's exclusive producer.
MTH, Mike's Train House Closing Their Doors in 2021
So this came to me tonight 6/8/2020 and i don't know how long this has been known but, MTH is going to close their doors in 2020 unless another buyer continues the business. From what I read on the web, Mike Wolff wants to retire and an operating production agreement that MTH had with Lionel LLC over the production of Tinplate Classics was coming due for renewal.
Lionel had proffered a new agreement but the amount of money via royalties or other issues couldn't be resolved in the way that MTH felt they could continue in business.

This could things a little easier

Weekly Photo Fun - Jun 7-13, 2020
It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em. There were a few late-comers in last week's post. Check them out, then come back here afterward.

Modeling drainage flow
I have one drainage pipe that feeds into the Rock River on my Iowa Interstate Milan branch layout. In preparation for modeling the drainage, I glued a piece of Stretch Magic cord from the pipe to the river to form a realistic looking arch. I'll now start to build up and sculpt the flow using multiple layers of Golden Soft Gel Gloss. The last photo shows the first layer of soft gel. Future layers will fill the pipe halfway and be wide at the opening then taper down to the river. The agitated water will also be built up via layers.
Soft paint problem
I have done a lot of freight car painting. Most of the time the paint dries hard and I have no problem with it. However, sometimes the paint does not seem to set up hard. I'm currently having a problem with a light yellow paint that was spray painted 3-4 days ago and it seems to easily be scratched. I have two other projects that are the same models, same preparation, same paint brand (one gray and one yellow), same airbrush application but these have dried hard. FYI, the gray paint was sprayed yesterday and it is fine.
